All the evidence points in that direction, especially in his
biography. He fits the psychological profile to a tee. He's a clone
of any number of Free Republic crackpots who confuse the government of
Israel with God Himself.

OK, I remember vaguely there was a Washington based psychologist who
studied his case. Admittedly I have no idea what the psychological
profile of an Christian Zionist or Armageddonist looks like. That
might be the reason I am a bit hesitant. Isn't it imperative for the
larger scenario that Christ returns from heaven? Pretty unlikely don't
you think?

I have the vague feeling that apart from the trigger function of 9/11
they think, war has always been good for the economy. No doubt it will
be much worse in the end. Even more if they move on to the next steps
suggested by Mr. Faster please and consorts.

thoughts. When he speaks about Israel, he appears to go into a
tremulous, brainwashed trance. His finger is on the button. He is
beginning to scare his own military establishment concerning what he
might do in the Mideast. There is not the slightest sign that the oil
industry is agitating for an American nuclear attack on Iran. Leading
oil industry executives were opposed to Iraq War. The oil industry
has traditionally sought *friendly*, not confrontational, relations
with Arab and Muslim oil-producing nations, to the great dismay and
displeasure of Israel.

This is admittedly a very a convincing argument, and you kept
repeating it. I forgot. But it still does not completely rescind my
curiosity concerning the laws installed in Iraq by the US concerning
oil or about the exact contents and decisions of Cheney's energy task
force.

special relationship with the Antichrist, the Second Coming and
Armageddon. Clearly there are some kind of bizarre ideational
patterns sloshing around in his confused head, and it's a safe bet
that they revolve around the same apocalyptic fantasies that govern
the minds of many of his fellow Christian evangelicals.

well, maybe these ideas are too strange for me to believe. But what do
I know. I probably wouldn't suffer from the Jerusalem syndrome either.
Maybe basically I have problems to combine a conservative group of
people who raise kids with any activity to help bring about the end of
the war. Why kids then? Do I have to imagine Christian Zionists as
parents without responsibility?

using Christian Zionists, and American military power, to crush their
enemies in the Mideast and all around the world, regardless of the
consequences for the United States and Europe. What could be more
obvious? Many neocons have been absolutely up-front about what they
are up to -- their strategy and tactics are an open book.

Concerning the military. We have a saying in German "being dealt the
black peter". It's connected with a card game. If you have the "black
peter" in your hand when the game ends, you loose. I think the
military is getting a bit mad about being delt the looser card by the
leading neocon hawks, and I can understand.
