Source: Arrests may be connected to Uptown killing
A police source tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that Minneapolis Police will announce an overnight arrest has netted suspects in the murder of a young man in Uptown.
Shortly after 11 Tuesday night, Minneapolis Police officers observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light at Pillsbury and West 31st--The vehicle failed to stop. The low speed pursuit ended when the vehicle struck another vehicle as the vehicle exited on Hiawatha and Cedar Ave. S.
Loaded handguns were recovered that were apparently thrown from the car.
Police took three suspects into custody: Aiesha Camille Williams, 23, James Michael Walker 27, and Omari Kwakou Thomas, 27.
All three were booked in Hennepin County Jail.
