A beautiful seldom-visited pond on "Woodchuck Hill" high above Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I used to visit this place often as a kid, but had not been here for nearly fifteen years.

Then, fifteen years ago, this place was quite a destination several miles far from home only visited with much planning, a sack lunch, a few friends, and enough weapons and sticks to fight off any invading Soviets (or girls) we would be sure to meet along the way.

I was surprised when I easily found my way here after so many years. Perhaps the ease could be attributed the absence of Communists, terrorists, invaders, or even girls?

Mount Werner (or Storm Mountain), the Steamboat Ski Area, is clearly visible
