Bush and Iran By Spooked It appears to be an even more alarming situation than I first thought. Doesn't this sound EXACTLY like Bush? A government consultant with close ties to the civilian leadership in the Pentagon said that Bush was "absolutely convinced that Iran is going to get the bomb' if it is not stopped. He said that the President believes that he must do "what no Democrat or Republican, if elected in the future, would have the courage to do," and "that saving Iran is going to be his legacy." And I completely agree with Josh Marshall here: ...the biggest folly would be to engage the administration on the particulars of their fantasies and delusions about foreign policy in the Middle East. They appear to have learned almost nothing from the last three years in Iraq. The only sensible expenditure of energy is to find ways to hem these guys in or constrain them before they do even more damage to this country. Since the Republicans run DC and are apparently completely subservient to Bush, it looks like we are SO F
