McCain On GOP Gay Marriage Ban: "I Just Hope We Get To The Defense Authorization Bill As Soon As Possible"...

Not all GOP members of Congress think staging votes on ideologically potent issues - like the gay marriage ban - is a good idea.

One Republican strategist is concerned that voters will perceive the revival of token conservative issues as the panicked reaction of a party that has been plagued by corruption and plummeting poll numbers, while Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) thinks the Senate should devote more time to substantial issues instead of empty votes: "it is the leader's decision as to what the agenda should be, I just hope we get to the defense authorization bill as soon as possible."
