Proving the Truth of the Harvard Paper on the Israel Lobby
 
So far the response by the Israel lobby to the Mearsheimer and Walt paper has consisted of a barrage of vile verbal abuse and personal attacks, and a failure to answer effectively any of the particular statements made in the paper.  Fanatics are usually devoid of a sense of irony, and it is completely lost upon the authors of this stream of nasty invective that they are helping to prove Mearsheimer's and Walt's case.
 
Generally this is how the lobby has acquired near absolute power in the United States: through bullying, intimidation and outright censorship, tactics which would have more appropriate in the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany than in the United States.
 
This is the very same lobby which was the main agitator for the disastrous war in Iraq and which has been the chief obstacle to pursuing the truth about 9/11.
 
If the lobby didn't want to draw negative attention to itself, it shouldn't have played such a conspicuous role in creating the $2 trillion mess in Iraq.  As American interests in the Middle East and around the world continue to deteriorate, under the influence of neoconservatives and neoliberals who have hijacked the Republican and Democratic Parties, greater attention will be paid to those who have created these problems.
