[political-research] Re: Daniel Pipes Goes Mental on the FBI

Well I somehow agree, but? Strange land. Over here you don't need a
PhD from Havard to write yellow press articles. I read stuff that
could be easily used for the Bild Zeitung over here. And that is about
as deep as you can get, BUT you get the masses:

"His website, DanielPipes.org, is the single most accessed internet
source of specialized information on the Middle East and Islam. It
offers an archive of his work and a place to sign-up to receive by
e-mail his writings as they appear."

certainly deserves regular and vigorous criticism. But there is
something especially bizarre about watching Daniel Pipes rabidly
attacking the FBI because he believes it is not sufficiently
overflowing with hatred for the enemies of Pipes and his fellow
extremists in Israel:

agencies than most American Muslims, because his rhetorical style is
often indistinguishable from that of violent extremists like Meir
Kahane and his followers.

obsessive passion as the fanatic -- those who won't fall in line join
the fanatic's enemies list. Fanatics end up by turning the entire
world violently against themselves. Pipes is gradually writing
himself right out of American political culture.
