The killer of 13-year old Iman Al Hams, a girl who was cowering behind
a stone and positively identified as a child before she was shot, and
then was shot multiple times to 'confirm the kill', according to the
Israeli military transcript of the incident, has received 80,000 NIS
(about $15,000) compensation for the 'trouble' of having gone to court.
Iman Al Hams, a 13-year old Palestinian girl, was shot by more than 23
bullets near the Girit Israeli military military outpost in Rafah, in
October 2004. The soldier who fired at her, and completed the 'confirm
kill' procedure by firing at her dead body, was not only acquitted of
all charges, but recently received a promotion to the rank of major.
The soldier, identified as captain “R”, who repeatedly fired at the
child, is a Druze captain in the Israeli army. He did have a trial for
the event, but was acquitted of all charges.
On Thursday February 16, 2006, the Israeli military police internal
investigations revealed that there had been major failures in the
investigation of the killing.
According to a report published by the Israeli online daily Haaretz,
Israeli Military Police Commander Brigadier General Roni Benny recently
appointed two reserve officers to examine the military police's conduct
during the investigation.
The examination conducted by the two officers revealed that the
investigators acted unprofessionally and with negligence. They
criticized the decision not to appoint a special investigation team for
the case. The team was supposed to have been led by higher-ranking and
more experienced officials.
Radio recordings which documented the communication between the
soldiers at the outpost and their leaders revealed that the incident
was in fact a cold-blooded murder.
During Captain “R”'s trial, which ultimately resulted in his
acquittal, the Israeli military prosecution charged Captain “R” of
misusing his arms by emptying his magazine in the dead body of Al Hams,
even after confirming she had been killed.
The prosecution also accused “R” of obstruction of court proceedings
after asking his soldiers to alter testimonies they provided to
military investigators probing the incident. Israeli media sources
reported that Yoav Meni and Elad Eisenberg, the two lawyers
representing “R”, managed to outline contradictions in the testimonies
of the “witnesses”. The witnesses, soldiers under the command of
Captain “R”, said that they lied during interrogation, and lied in the
sworn testimonies that they had supplied to the court in order to oust
“R” from the division.
Captain “R”'s lawyer argued the “confirm kill” of the girl’s death is
a known practice used by the Israeli army to “eliminate threats”, which
in this case was a terrified, unarmed, crying Palestinian child.
The 13-year-old school girl was on her way to school when she was
killed on October 5, 2004. Although she is just one of 850 children
killed by the Israeli army since the start of the current stage of
conflict in 2000, her death became one of the few that was widely
publicized, due to the leak of a tape of the incident. The following is
a transcription of the radio transmission between troops and their
commander:

The situation is as follows: we conducted orders and fired at her, she
wears jeans, a T-shirt, and a head cover. Killing confirmed.”

After the killing of Al-Hams, the lawyers of ‘R' Elad Eisenberg and
Yoav Meni tried to focus of the system itself and the rules of
engagement used by the army.
“Instead of putting ‘R' on trial, an entire system was on trial. This
system allows the army to conduct lethal action in Gaza leading to the
death of dozens of innocent civilians”, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz
reported.
Instead, the officer was acquitted, rewarded, promoted and continues
to serve in the Palestinian Occupied Territories.
22% of the Palestinians killed by the Israeli army during Al Aqsa
Intifada which erupted late 2000 were children. They were killed in the
streets, schools, and at home during military shelling to Palestinian
houses.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that the number of
Palestinians killed by the Israeli army since the beginning of the
Intifada until February 13, 2006 is 3,808 residents, and 29,456 were
injured.
The number of children killed by Israeli military fire since the
beginning of the Intifada is 851, including 160 who were under the age
of 12.
Apparently, the so-called 'failure to investigate' cases of
Palestinian civilians killed by the Israeli military seems to be a
recurrent issue.
The case of Al-Hams did not carry any criminal proceedings because the
investigators themselves were involved in the shooting which lead to
the death of the girl. Now, the army says that there was a failure in
probing the 'confirm kill' case that claimed the life of a 13-year old
Palestinian child.
Apparently, the lives of the Palestinians, including children, are not
even worth a thorough investigation by the state of Israel.

proof that the trade towers' steel structure was broken apart without
explosives.
Rodriguez said that he was told an FBI agent had asked the hotel him
and Walter were staying in turn over a list of names of residents. Upon
hearing this, the National Assembly provided armed military protection
for the entirety of the trip. In addition, Walters said that CIA agents
were seen surveilling the beach on which he and Rodriguez had handed
out free DVD's a day earlier.
THE US GOVERNMENT ATTEMPTED TO SABOTAGE THE TRIP BY PUTTING RODRIGUEZ,
WHO HAS BEEN DECORATED AT THE WHITE HOUSE ITSELF, AND WALTER ON A NO
FLY LIST.
Rodriguez and Walter are educating top Venezuelan officials on the
evidence that 9/11 was a self-inflicted wound carried out by the

ANSWER: The Act is a Public Act of the United States Congress, and a
Joint Resolution of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives
in the U.S. Congress. It can be introduced by any U.S. Senator and any
U.S. Representative at no cost simply by handing the Act to the Clerk
according to official rules.
QUESTION: What is the purpose of The SEPTEMBER 11 TREASON INDEPENDENT
PROSECUTOR ACT?
ANSWER: The Act would appoint an Independent Prosecutor under the
authority of Article III(3) of the U.S. Constitution to prosecute
Treason against these United States of America by U.S. President George
W. Bush, U.S. Vice President Richard B. Cheney, U.S. Secretary of
Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and other John and Jane Does for planning
and carrying out the acts of treason, as defined in Article III(3) of
the U.S. Constitution, by conspiring to carry out, carrying out, and/or
causing to be carried out an armed attack upon these United States on
September 11, 2001, as part of a strategic deception operation. Article
III of the U.S. Constitution provides that, "Sect. 3. Treason against
the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or
in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort...."
On September 11, 1998, the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary
Committee released a report by Independent Prosecutor, Kenneth Starr,
which eventually led to an Article of Impeachment against President
William Jefferson Clinton under Article II of the U.S. Constitution.
QUESTION: What are the main grounds for concluding that there is prima
facie evidence that the named individuals - U.S. President George W.
Bush, U.S. Vice President Richard B. Cheney, U.S. Secretary of Defense
Donald H. Rumsfeld - abused the power of their office and committed
Article III Treason on September 11, 2001?
ANSWER: This is what the Legislative Memorandum accompanying The
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 TREASON INDEPENDENT PROSECUTOR ACT states:
VII. Summation: The 9/11 Attacks as Acts of Treason
The facts recited above constitute prima facie evidence that the named
individuals---U.S. President George W. Bush, U.S. Vice President
Richard B. Cheney, U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld---and
other John and Jane Does are independently and jointly guilty of
Treason against these United States under Article III(3) of the U.S.
Constitution, because:
I. The attacks of 9/11, as portrayed in the official account, could
not have succeeded if standard operating procedures between the FAA and
NORAD had been followed. The Pentagon, under the leadership of Donald
Rumsfeld, has provided three mutually inconsistent accounts of NORAD’s
response, which means that at least two of them are false. Moreover,
the third account, articulated by the 9/11 Commission, is contradicted
by a wide range of facts, including evidence that the FAA had notified
NORAD in a timely fashion. There must have been stand-down orders, and
these could have come only from the highest levels of the Pentagon and
the White House.
II. Overwhelming evidence exists that the collapses of the Twin Towers
and Building 7 were instances of controlled demolition. But al-Qaeda
operatives could not have obtained the needed access to the buildings
to plant the explosives and would not have ensured that the buildings
come straight down. The controlled demolition, therefore, had to be the
work of insiders. That President Bush was one of those insiders is
suggested by the fact that his brother and cousin were principals in
the company in charge of WTC security. Complicity at the highest levels
of the federal government is also indicated by the removal of evidence
(the collapsed steel), which is normally a federal offense. Finally, if
the airplane strikes could have occurred only with the consent of the
president and the secretary of defense (as suggested in the previous
point), the coordination of these strikes with the demolition of the
buildings implies their involvement in the latter as well.
III. Overwhelming evidence also exists for the conclusion that the
attack on the Pentagon was an inside job. That the official story could
not be true is evident from many facts: Hani Hanjour’s incompetence;
the choice of the west wing as the target; the impossibility of a
commercial airliner’s coming back to Washington undetected and hitting
the Pentagon unless permitted; and the lack of physical evidence
consistent with an attack by a Boeing 757. That the strike was an
inside job is implied by the falsity of the official story, the
evidence that the strike was made by a military aircraft, the removal
of evidence, and the government’s refusal to release videos of the
strike. This operation could hardly have been planned without the
involvement of Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld.
IV. Complicity at the highest levels of the federal government is also
indicated by President Bush’s remaining at the school after it was
evident---given the truth of the official account---that the United
States was experiencing a surprise attack. This behavior makes sense
only if Bush and his lead Secret Service agent knew that there would be
no attack on the school.
V. The complicity of Vice President Cheney in the attack on the
Pentagon and the downing of Flight 93 is implied by the testimony of
Secretary Mineta in conjunction with the false claims of the 9/11
Commission, under the guidance of administration insider Philip
Zelikow, as to when Cheney went to the PEOC and when he issued the
shoot-down authorization.
VI. The conclusion from the evidence that members of the Bush
administration orchestrated the attacks of 9/11 is reinforced by the
fact that they had some huge projects---prosecuting wars in Afghanistan
and Iraq and obtaining funding to accelerate the technological
transformation of the military---that would likely be possible only in
the event of “a new Pearl Harbor.”
On the basis of this and other evidence, the conclusion that the
Bush-Cheney administration was complicit in the 9/11 attacks has been
reached by many Americans, including intellectuals and former military
officers. It is time for an independent official investigation into
this evidence.

N. Orleans Voters Swamped
Again

Thousands of New Orleans residents marched on Saturday to demand the
right to vote. They marched across the Mississippi River Bridge, where
Gretna police had repelled residents as they tried to escape the
horrors of Katrina. Forty years after the passage of the Voting Rights
Act, African Americans once more must march to gain the right to vote.
There's an election called for New Orleans on April 22, but the South
has always had elections. After centuries of slavery and segregation,
the reason for the Voting Rights Act was to defend the right of blacks
to vote. The act requires that the federal government clear ahead of
time -- preclearance -- any changes in voting procedures to protect
against any trick or scheme that would dilute the voting rights of
minorities in those areas of the country with a history of
discrimination.
Yet in New Orleans, the letter and the spirit of the Voting Rights Act
are being violated. New Orleans, once a city of 450,000, now has about
150,000 residents. The rest -- disproportionately African Americans,
workers and the poor -- have been scattered across 49 states in
federally arranged relocations. These are citizens, taxpayers, often
homeowners, whose houses have been destroyed and jobs shut down. Their
return to New Orleans has been stymied by federal, state and local
failure to respond adequately to Katrina's damage.
The state of Louisiana and the federal government have refused to set
up satellite voting places in states where New Orleans residents are
scattered. The Bush administration provided satellite voting for Iraqis
to vote in the Iraqi election -- with same-day voter registration. It
did the same for Mexican Americans to vote in the Mexican election. But
neither the state nor the Bush administration will spend the small sums
required to set up satellite stations in the United States for U.S.
citizens displaced by a natural storm and an incompetent
administration.
The dispersed are told to vote by absentee ballot. They have to write
to get a ballot sent by mail, and send it back by mail. But many don't
know what their address will be next week, as FEMA keeps jacking them
about. And the damage wrought by Katrina means that the mail still
doesn't work well.
Even residents who live in the damaged areas of New Orleans will have
a hard time voting. The state has certified a range of election places
that are destroyed. Officials will change or eliminate those places at
the last minute, and voters are likely to be confused about where to
vote and to find long lines in the few places where they can vote.
And to add insult to the injury, the state of Louisiana has an updated
voter list that contains the addresses of all those displaced across
the country -- but it won't supply the list to the candidates. So
candidates don't know where their voters are, and many voters will have
no idea who the candidates are. This looks less like an accident than a
design -- either way it is clearly illegal under the Voting Rights Act.
It will -- and it is hard to see anything but malign intent -- lower
the African-American vote drastically.
Bush named Karl Rove to head up the New Orleans recovery after the
FEMA failures even though he had no experience in emergency relief or
recovery. What Rove knows is how to count votes and win elections. The
administration seems intent on suppressing the African-American vote in
New Orleans and in Louisiana.
So like the marchers in Selma 41 years ago, thousands of citizens in
New Orleans march for the right to vote. They demand the election be
postponed until September, so that: (1) the updated voter roll is
shared with candidates; (2) satellite voting places are provided in
states across the country; (3) voting places in sufficient number are
secured throughout New Orleans, and (4) all changes are reviewed and
cleared ahead of time by career officials at the Justice Department to
ensure that the Voting Rights Act is enforced.
Katrina's survivors have survived the ravages of nature, the
catastrophic callousness of the administration and the discouragements
of deprivation and displacement. Many have lost their homes, their
livelihoods, their neighborhoods. But they have fought too hard and
stayed strong too long to allow officials to trample their right to
vote.

US soldiers killing innocent civilians in Iraq is not news. Just as it
was not news that US soldiers slaughtered countless innocent civilians
in Vietnam. However, when some rare reportage of this non news from Iraq
does seep through the cracks of the corporate media, albeit briefly, the
American public seems shocked. Private and public statements of denial
and dismissal immediately start to fill the air. We hear, "American
soldiers would never do such a thing," or "Who would make such a
ridiculous claim?"
It amazes me that so many people in the US today somehow seriously
believe that American soldiers would never kill civilians. Despite the
fact that they are in a no-win guerrilla war in Iraq which, like any
other guerrilla war, always generates more civilian casualties than
combatant casualties on either side.
Robert J. Lifton is a prominent American psychiatrist who lobbied for
the inclusion of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the Diagnostic
and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders after his work with US
veterans from Vietnam. His studies on the behavior of those who have
committed war crimes led him to believe it does not require an unusual
level of mental illness or of personal evil to carry out such crimes.
Rather, these crimes are nearly guaranteed to occur in what Lifton
refers to as "atrocity-producing situations."
Several of his books, like /The Nazi Doctors: Medical Killing and the
Psychology of Genocide/, examine how abnormal conditions work on normal
minds, enabling them to commit the most horrendous crimes imaginable.
Iraq today is most certainly an "atrocity-producing situation," as it
has been from the very beginning of the occupation.
The latest reported war crime, a US military raid on the al-Mustafa Shia
mosque in Baghdad on March 26th, which killed at least 16 people, is
only one instance of the phenomena that Lifton has spoken of.
An AP video of the scene shows male bodies tangled together in a bloody
mass on the floor of the Imams' living quarters - all of them with
shotgun wounds and other bullet holes. The tape also shows shell casings
of the caliber used by the US military scattered about on the floor. An
official from the al-Sadr political bloc reported that American forces
had surrounded the hospital where the wounded were taken for treatment
after the massacre.
The slaughter was followed by an instant and predictable disinformation
blitz by the US military. The second ranking US commander in Iraq, Lt.
Gen. Peter Chiarelli, told reporters "someone went in and made the scene
look different from what it was."
On March 15th, 11 Iraqis, mostly women and children, were massacred by
US troops in Balad. Witnesses told reporters that US helicopters landed
near a home, which was then stormed by US troops. Everyone visible was
rounded up and taken inside the house where they were killed. The
victims' ages ranged from six months to 75 years.
The US military acknowledged the raid, but claimed to have captured a
resistance fighter and insisted that only four people had been killed.
Their claim would have held good but for the discrepancies that the
available evidence presents. For one, the photographs that the AP
reporter took of the scene reveal a collapsed roof, three destroyed cars
and two dead cows. The other indictment comes from the detailed report
of the incident prepared by Iraq Police. It matches witness accounts and
accuses the American troops of murdering Iraqi civilians.
"The American forces gathered the family members in one room and
executed 11 persons, including five children, four women and two men.
Then they bombed the house, burned three vehicles and killed the
animals." The report includes the observation of local medics that all
of the bodies had bullet wounds in the head.
Ahmed Khalaf, the nephew of one of the victims said, "The killed family
was not part of the resistance, they were women and children. The
Americans have promised us a better life, but we get only death." AP
photos of the aftermath showed the bodies of five children, two men and
four others covered in blankets being driven to a nearby hospital.
Reminiscent of Vietnam?
Another appalling example of the effect of an "atrocity-producing
situation" was experienced last November 19th in Haditha. American
troops, in retaliation against a roadside bomb attack, stormed nearby
homes and shot dead 15 members of two families, including a
three-year-old girl.
US military response? All 15 civilians were killed by the blast of the
roadside bomb.
In this case, reality refuted their claim when a student of journalism
from Haditha showed up with a video tape of the dead, still in their
nightclothes.

assault on Fallujah, scores of Iraqis were killed by US soldiers in this
manner

Neither is it news that the US military regularly targets ambulances and
medical infrastructure <http://www.brusselstribunal.org/DahrReport.htm>.
Khaled Ahmed Rsayef, whose brother and six other relatives were killed
by the troops, vividly described the blind frustration of the American
soldiers and their impulsive revenge at losing one of their own.
"American troops immediately cordoned off the area and raided two nearby
houses, shooting at everyone inside. It was a massacre in every sense of
the word," said Rasayef. While he was not present at the scene, his
15-year-old niece was and her story was corroborated by other residents
of the area who witnessed the carnage.
A quick scan of some Arab media reportage for last month exposes further
atrocities carried out by US forces in Iraq which find no mention in the
corporate media.
March 20, the Daily Dar Al-Salam reported: "US forces destroyed houses
in Hasibah and displaced the inhabitants. Also, a source at Abu Ghurayb
Secondary School said that US forces raided the school for the third
time and arrested the guard."
In December 2003, I personally witnessed US soldiers raid a secondary
school in the al-Amiriyah district of Baghdad and detain 16 children.
March 19, Al-Arabia reported: "In another development, seven people,
including a woman, were killed in a raid carried out by joint
American-Iraqi forces in Al-Dulu'iyah at dawn today. The US Army has so
far not confirmed this information."
March 9, Al Sharqiyah Television reported: "US troops opened fire at a
civilian vehicle as it passed by Al-Hadba district in the western part
of Mosul, northern Iraq. The three occupants of the vehicle were
martyred in the incident."
Throughout the three-year history of the US-led catastrophe that is the
occupation of Iraq, we have had one instance after another of brutality
meted out to innocent Iraqis, by way of direct executions or bombings
from the air, or both.
During an attack on a wedding party in May 2004, US troops killed over
40 people, mostly women and children, in a desert village on the Syrian
border of Iraq.
APTN footage showed fragments of musical instruments, blood stains, the
headless body of a child, other dead children and clumps of women's hair
in a destroyed house that was bombed by US warplanes. Other photographs
showed dead women and children, and an AP reporter identified at least
10 of the bodies as those of children. Relatives who gathered at a
cemetery outside of Ramadi, where all the bodies were buried, told
reporters that each of the 28 fresh graves contained between one and
three bodies.
The few survivors of the massacre later recounted how in the middle of
the night long after the wedding feast had ended, US jets began raining
bombs on their tents and houses.
Mrs. Shihab, a 30-year-old woman who survived the massacre, told the
Guardian, "We went out of the house and the American soldiers started to
shoot us. They were shooting low on the ground and targeting us one by
one." She added that she ran with her two little boys before they were
all shot, including herself in the leg. "I left them because they were
dead," she said of her two little boys, one of whom was decapitated by a
shell. "I fell into the mud and an American soldier came and kicked me.
I pretended to be dead so he wouldn't kill me."
Thereafter, armored military vehicles entered the village, shooting at
all the other houses and the people who were starting to assemble in the
open. Following these, two Chinook helicopters offloaded several dozen
troops, some of who set explosives in one of the homes and a building
next to it. Both exploded into rubble as the helicopters lifted off.
Mr. Nawaf, one of the survivors, said, "I saw something that nobody ever
saw in this world. There were children's bodies cut into pieces, women
cut into pieces, men cut into pieces. The Americans call these people
foreign fighters. It is a lie. I just want one piece of evidence of what
they are saying."
Hamdi Noor al-Alusi, the manager of al-Qa'im general hospital, the
nearest medical facility to the scene of the slaughter, said that of the
42 killed, 14 were children and 11 women. "I want to know why the
Americans targeted this small village," he said, "These people are my
patients. I know each one of them. What has caused this disaster?"
As usual, the US military ran a disinformation campaign saying the
target was a "suspected safe-house" for foreign fighters and denied that
any children were killed. The ever pliant US Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt
told reporters that the troops who reported back from the operation
"told us they did not shoot women and children."
Topping his ridiculous claim was the statement of Maj. Gen. James
Mattis, commander of the 1st Marine Division. "How many people go to the
middle of the desert ... to hold a wedding 80 miles (130km) from the
nearest civilization?"
Perhaps someone should have informed him that these farmers and nomads
often "go to the middle of the desert" because they happen to live
there.
"These were more than two dozen military-age males. Let's not be naïve,"
Mattis stated before being asked by a reporter to comment on the footage
on Arabic television which showed a child's body being lowered into a
grave. His brilliant response was: "I have not seen the pictures but bad
things happen in wars. I don't have to apologize for the conduct of my
men."
If the US were a member of the International Criminal Court, Maj. Gen.
Mattis may well have been in The Hague right now being tried for aiding
and abetting war crimes. How can someone holding an official position
like Mattis publicly sanction atrocities?
It is about unnatural responses such as these that Dr. Lifton has
written extensively. In a piece he wrote for the New England Journal of
Medicine in July 2004, Lifton addressed the issue of US doctors being
complicit in torturing Iraqis in Abu Ghraib. This article sheds much
light on the situation in Iraq. If we substitute "doctors" with
"soldiers" it is easy to understand why American soldiers are regularly
committing the excesses that we hear of.
Lifton writes, "American doctors at Abu Ghraib and elsewhere have
undoubtedly been aware of their medical responsibility to document
injuries and raise questions about their possible source in abuse. But
those doctors and other medical personnel were part of a command
structure that permitted, encouraged, and sometimes orchestrated torture
to a degree that it became the norm - with which they were expected to
comply - in the immediate prison environment."
He continues, "The doctors thus brought a medical component to what I
call an "atrocity-producing situation" - one so structured,
psychologically and militarily, that ordinary people can readily engage
in atrocities. Even without directly participating in the abuse, doctors
may have become socialized to an environment of torture and by virtue of
their medical authority helped sustain it. In studying various forms of
medical abuse, I have found that the participation of doctors can confer
an aura of legitimacy and can even create an illusion of therapy and
healing."
I have personally experienced this. Standing with US soldiers at
checkpoints and perimeters of operations in Iraq, I have seen them curse
and kick Iraqis, heard them threatening to kill even women and children
and then look at me as if they had merely said hello to them. My status
of journalist did not deter them because they saw no need for checks.
Having stood with soldiers anticipating that each moving car would turn
into a bomb and each passerby into a suicide bomber, I have tasted the
stress and fear these soldiers live with on a daily basis. When one of
their fellow soldiers is killed by a roadside bomb, the need for revenge
may be directed at anything. And repeated often enough, the process gets
socialized.
It's about this attitude brought on by the normalization of the abnormal
under "atrocity-producing situations" that Dr. Lifton speaks. Unless of
course we consider Mattis and others like him to be rare sociopaths who
are able to participate in atrocities without suffering lasting
emotional harm.
And it is this attitude that is responsible for the incessant
replication of wanton slaughter and madness in Iraq today.
Back in November of 2004, I wrote about 12-year-old Fatima Harouz. She
lay dazed in a crowded room in Yarmouk Hospital in Bahgdad, feebly
waving her bruised arm at flies. Her shins had been shattered

by bullets from US soldiers when they fired through the front door of
her home in Latifiya, a small city just south of Baghdad. Small plastic
drainage bags filled with red fluid sat upon her abdomen, where she took
shrapnel from another bullet.
Her mother, who was standing with us, said, "They attacked our home and
there weren't even any resistance fighters in our area." Her brother had
been shot and killed, and his wife was wounded as their home was
ransacked by soldiers. "Before they left, they killed all of our
chickens," she added, her eyes a mixture of fear, shock and rage.
On hearing the story, a doctor looked at me sternly and asked, "This is
the freedom ... in their Disney Land are there kids just like this?"
Another wounded young woman in a nearby hospital bed, Rana Obeidy, had
been walking home with her brother. She assumed the soldiers shot her
and her brother because he was carrying a bottle of soda. This happened
in Baghdad. She had a chest wound

where a bullet had grazed her, unlike her little brother, whom the
bullets had killed.
There exist many more such cases. Amnesty International has documented
scores of human rights violations committed by US troops in Iraq during
the first six months of the occupation. To mention but a few:
US troops shot dead and injured scores of Iraqi demonstrators in several
incidents. For example, seven people were reportedly shot dead and
dozens injured in Mosul on 15 April.
At least 15 people, including children, were shot dead and more than 70
injured in Fallujah on 29 April.
Two demonstrators were shot dead outside the Republican Palace in
Baghdad on 18 June.
On 14 May, two US armed vehicles broke through the perimeter wall of the
home of Sa'adi Suleiman Ibrahim al-'Ubaydi in Ramadi. Soldiers beat him
with rifle butts and then shot him dead as he tried to flee.
US forces shot 12-year-old Mohammad al-Kubaisi as they carried out
search operations around his house in the Hay al-Jihad area in Baghdad
on 26 June. He was carrying the family bedding to the roof of his house
when he was shot. Neighbors tried to rush him to the nearby hospital by
car, but US soldiers stopped them and ordered them to go back. By the
time they returned to his home, Mohammad al-Kubaisi was dead.
On 17 September, a 14-year-old boy was killed and six people were
injured when US troops opened fire at a wedding party in Fallujah.
On 23 September, three farmers, 'Ali Khalaf, Sa'adi Faqri and Salem
Khalil, were killed and three others injured when US troops opened a
barrage of gunfire reportedly lasting for at least an hour in the
village of al-Jisr near Fallujah. A US military official stated that
this happened when the troops came under attack but this was vehemently
denied by relatives of the dead. Later that day, US military officials
reportedly went to the farmhouse, took photographs and apologized to the
family.
This last incident ended in a way similar to the one I covered in Ramadi
in November, 2003. On the 23rd of that month during Ramadan, US soldiers
raided a home where a family was just sitting down together to break
their fast.
Three men of the family had their hands tied behind them with plastic
ties and were laid on the ground face down while the women and children
were made to stand inside a nearby storage closet.
Khalil Ahmed, 30 years old, the brother of two of the victims and cousin
with a third, wept when he described to me how after executing the three
men the soldiers completely destroyed the home

using Humvees with machine guns, small tanks, and gunfire from the many
troops on foot and helicopters.
"We don't know the reason why the soldiers came here. They didn't tell
us the reason. We don't know why they killed our family members." Khalil
seemed to demand an answer from me. "There are no weapons in this house,
there are no resistance fighters. So why did these people have to die?
Why?"
Khalil told me that the day after the executions took place, soldiers
returned to apologize. They handed him a cake saying they were sorry
that they had been given wrong information by someone that told them
there were resistance fighters in their house.
This is only a very small sampling. The only way to prevent any of this
from being repeated ad infinitum is to remove US soldiers from their
"atrocity-producing situation" in Iraq. For it is clearer than ever that
the longer the failed, illegal occupation persists, the larger will be
the numbers of Iraqis slaughtered by the occupation forces.

America's war on the web

While the US remains committed to hunting down al-Qaeda operatives, it
is now taking the battle to new fronts. Deep within the Pentagon,
technologies are being deployed to wage the war on terror on the
internet, in newspapers and even through mobile phones. Investigations
editor Neil Mackay reports
IMAGINE a world where wars are fought over the internet; where TV
broadcasts and newspaper reports are designed by the military to
confuse the population; and where a foreign armed power can shut down
your computer, phone, radio or TV at will.
In 2006, we are just about to enter such a world. This is the age of
information warfare, and details of how this new military doctrine will
affect everyone on the planet are contained in a report, entitled The
Information Operations Roadmap, commissioned and approved by US
secretary of defence Donald Rumsfeld and seen by the Sunday Herald.
The Pentagon has already signed off $383 million to force through the
document’s recommendations by 2009. Military and intelligence sources
in the US talk of “a revolution in the concept of warfare”. The report
orders three new developments in America’s approach to warfare:
lFirstly, the Pentagon says it will wage war against the internet in
order to dominate the realm of communications, prevent digital attacks
on the US and its allies, and to have the upper hand when launching
cyber-attacks against enemies.
lSecondly, psychological military operations, known as psyops, will be
at the heart of future military action. Psyops involve using any media
– from newspapers, books and posters to the internet, music,
Blackberrys and personal digital assistants (PDAs) – to put out black
propaganda to assist government and military strategy. Psyops involve
the dissemination of lies and fake stories and releasing information to
wrong-foot the enemy.
lThirdly, the US wants to take control of the Earth’s electromagnetic
spectrum, allowing US war planners to dominate mobile phones, PDAs, the
web, radio, TV and other forms of modern communication. That could see
entire countries denied access to telecommunications at the flick of a
switch by America.
Freedom of speech advocates are horrified at this new doctrine, but
military planners and members of the intelligence community embrace the
idea as a necessary development in modern combat.
Human rights lawyer John Scott, who chairs the Scottish Centre for
Human Rights, said: “This is an unwelcome but natural development of
what we have seen. I find what is said in this document to be
frightening, and it needs serious parliamentary scrutiny.”
Crispin Black – who has worked for the Joint Intelligence Committee,
and has been an Army lieutenant colonel, a military intelligence
officer, a member of the Defence Intelligence Staff and a Cabinet
Office intelligence analyst who briefed Number 10 – said he broadly
supported the report as it tallied with the Pentagon’s over-arching
vision for “full spectrum dominance” in all military matters.
“I’m all for taking down al-Qaeda websites. Shutting down enemy
propaganda is a reasonable course of action. Al-Qaeda is very good at
[information warfare on the internet], so we need to catch up. The US
needs to lift its game,” he said.
This revolution in information warfare is merely an extension of the
politics of the “neoconservative” Bush White House. Even before getting
into power, key players in Team Bush were planning total military and
political domination of the globe. In September 2000, the now notorious
document Rebuilding America’s Defences – written by the Project for the
New American Century (PNAC), a think-tank staffed by some of the Bush
presidency’s leading lights – said that America needed a “blueprint for
maintaining US global pre-eminence, precluding the rise of a great
power-rival, and shaping the international security order in line with
American principles and interests”.
The PNAC was founded by Dick Cheney, the vice-president; Donald
Rumsfeld, the defence secretary; Bush’s younger brother, Jeb; Paul
Wolfowitz, once Rumsfeld’s deputy and now head of the World Bank; and
Lewis Libby, Cheney’s former chief of staff, now indicted for perjury
in America.
Rebuilding America’s Defences also spoke of taking control of the
internet. A heavily censored version of the document was released under
Freedom of Information legislation to the National Security Archive at
George Washington University in the US.
The report admits the US is vulnerable to electronic warfare. “Networks
are growing faster than we can defend them,” the report notes. “The
sophistication and capability of … nation states to degrade system and
network operations are rapidly increasing.”
The report says the US military’s first priority is that the
“department [of defence] must be prepared to ‘fight the net’”. The
internet is seen in much the same way as an enemy state by the Pentagon
because of the way it can be used to propagandise, organise and mount
electronic attacks on crucial US targets. Under the heading “offensive
cyber operations”, two pages outlining possible operations are blacked
out.
Next, the Pentagon focuses on electronic warfare, saying it must be
elevated to the heart of US military war planning. It will “provide
maximum control of the electromagnetic spectrum, denying, degrading,
disrupting or destroying the full spectrum of communications equipment
… it is increasingly important that our forces dominate the
electromagnetic spectrum with attack capabilities”. Put simply, this
means US forces having the power to knock out any or all forms of
telecommunications on the planet.
After electronic warfare, the US war planners turn their attention to
psychological operations: “Military forces must be better prepared to
use psyops in support of military operations.” The State Department,
which carries out US diplomatic functions, is known to be worried that
the rise of such operations could undermine American diplomacy if
uncovered by foreign states. Other examples of information war listed
in the report include the creation of “Truth Squads” to provide public
information when negative publicity, such as the Abu Ghraib torture
scandal, hits US operations, and the establishment of “Humanitarian
Road Shows”, which will talk up American support for democracy and
freedom.
The Pentagon also wants to target a “broader set of select foreign
media and audiences”, with $161m set aside to help place pro-US
articles in overseas media.

Agreed. That's why I always say in interviews that the twin towers
were "blown to kingdom come." It is flat-out ludicrous to talk about
a "collapse," much less a "pancake collapse," as the cover story
terms it.
WTC7, on the other hand, was a conventional controlled demolition
with gravity rather than explosives doing a majority of the work.

The United States government, like all governments, is a puppet. Its
players, our "elected," are marionettes dancing to international
bankers and lobbyist bribes, which pull strings for international banks
in exchange for power and cash. This song and dance began in 1913 with
the advent of the Federal Reserve System, also known as fake money,
enforced debt, and pretend ownership.
In order that the American people fall for this political burlesque, we
had to believe that our nation was a sovereign nation, and that our
dollar bills, our Federal Reserve notes, were real money – that a
$5.00 bill was actually worth $5.00. We also had to believe that it was
our option to enter into debt in order to "own" things like
houses and property. Our politicians and economists knew better, but
they didn't want to tell us that our "economic" system was
built to entrap labor, to feed corporate aristocrats and profit, and to
control indebted populations and nations, their natural resources AND,
ultimately, who lives and who dies.
It's a complicated system, as one might expect, as complex
bureaucracies were invented to keep the masses out of the loop, but it
is a system that needs to be understood by every American who IS
responsible for this despicable and treacherous system and the people
who brought it into our nation. With that said, I am going to recommend
a book and a commentary, which will help you to get up to speed on why
your life styles are degrading, why you're not making any money, and
why your taxes and interest rates keep climbing and climbing while your
life styles are keep getting chiseled down to smaller and smaller sizes.

As with most American people, I am in the process of learning about my
nation's economic system for the first time. I, too, am a new
student. I can tell you very honestly that I resisted the task, and to
this day find the material difficult to digest. However, I have learned
a great deal – most of which being that if I had known what I know
today, ALL financial decisions in my life would have been made very
differently – all of them.
Our money that we take to the grocery store, that we mail to mortgage
bankers, credit card companies, and that we pay to doctors,
veterinarians, mills, and gas stations is "play" money –
like Monopoly money. It's not real. It is fake money. Therefore,
whenever you buy things, you are actually not paying for them, which
translates into the fact that you actually don't own what you buy.
Now, this fact operates on many, many levels. For instance, you may feel
that you "own" your house, free and clear, because you paid your
mortgage in full, but your house can, nonetheless, be taken from you for
failure to pay your property taxes or through Eminent Domain. And
another reason why you never own your house free and clear is because
the money you paid to your mortgage lender was 1) not real money, and 2)
that un-real money was borrowed to begin with, and 3) was borrowed money
before YOU borrowed it to buy your house.
The originating point of the borrowed money system comes from the
international banking system in Europe. So, let me explain your debt
– you borrowed borrowed money from Europe, and this is the operating
principle and procedure of the Federal Reserve System. International
banking cartels own America's debt. The Federal Reserve System is
the middleman, who collects our interest payments, to repay
International loans. However, the "money" that we borrow to buy
our houses and properties is not real money. That means that $5.00 is
worth nothing – not even a penny – which is why, in fact, you
don't own anything – including your paid off houses.
Now, when the international banking cabals get their interest payments
from their international loans, they buy (and hoard) gold, silver,
platinum, etc., and they buy land, natural resources, politicians, and
corporations. They then set up philanthropic organizations and give
grant money to those governments and organizations willing to forward
their political and economic agendas, and they take these agendas into
and through national governments. These international banking cabals are
also members of the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign
Relations, the Bilderburg group, and other cabal organizations, and I
strongly suspect that at the apex of that group are a very few people
and "families."
I'm no genius, and I'm a far better cook than social
commentator, but it has become very clear to me that our belief in the
right to own property, and its link to "freedom," is 1)
absolutely true and 2) the biggest deception that the American people
have been operating under for AT LEAST the last 100 years.
Do you recall our president stating, several years ago, that the goal
was to have all American families own houses? And do you recall the drop
in interest rates for about 5 years or so, as we all went out and bought
houses and property like bees to honey? And we all bought more than we
could actually afford due to those low interest rates - living large, so
to speak?
What do you suppose is going to happen when 1) the real estate bubble
bursts, and the value of our mortgaged properties drop like dead birds
in flight, and 2) our pretend money, which purchased pretend "homes
to own," becomes unusable – say in an "emergency," or a
Martial Law scenario, where all banks and money can be "legally

The United States government, like all governments, is a puppet. Its
players, our "elected," are marionettes dancing to international
bankers and lobbyist bribes, which pull strings for international banks
in exchange for power and cash. This song and dance began in 1913 with
the advent of the Federal Reserve System, also known as fake money,
enforced debt, and pretend ownership.
In order that the American people fall for this political burlesque, we
had to believe that our nation was a sovereign nation, and that our
dollar bills, our Federal Reserve notes, were real money – that a
$5.00 bill was actually worth $5.00. We also had to believe that it was
our option to enter into debt in order to "own" things like
houses and property. Our politicians and economists knew better, but
they didn't want to tell us that our "economic" system was
built to entrap labor, to feed corporate aristocrats and profit, and to
control indebted populations and nations, their natural resources AND,
ultimately, who lives and who dies.
It's a complicated system, as one might expect, as complex
bureaucracies were invented to keep the masses out of the loop, but it
is a system that needs to be understood by every American who IS
responsible for this despicable and treacherous system and the people
who brought it into our nation. With that said, I am going to recommend
a book and a commentary, which will help you to get up to speed on why
your life styles are degrading, why you're not making any money, and
why your taxes and interest rates keep climbing and climbing while your
life styles are keep getting chiseled down to smaller and smaller sizes.

As with most American people, I am in the process of learning about my
nation's economic system for the first time. I, too, am a new
student. I can tell you very honestly that I resisted the task, and to
this day find the material difficult to digest. However, I have learned
a great deal – most of which being that if I had known what I know
today, ALL financial decisions in my life would have been made very
differently – all of them.
Our money that we take to the grocery store, that we mail to mortgage
bankers, credit card companies, and that we pay to doctors,
veterinarians, mills, and gas stations is "play" money –
like Monopoly money. It's not real. It is fake money. Therefore,
whenever you buy things, you are actually not paying for them, which
translates into the fact that you actually don't own what you buy.
Now, this fact operates on many, many levels. For instance, you may feel
that you "own" your house, free and clear, because you paid your
mortgage in full, but your house can, nonetheless, be taken from you for
failure to pay your property taxes or through Eminent Domain. And
another reason why you never own your house free and clear is because
the money you paid to your mortgage lender was 1) not real money, and 2)
that un-real money was borrowed to begin with, and 3) was borrowed money
before YOU borrowed it to buy your house.
The originating point of the borrowed money system comes from the
international banking system in Europe. So, let me explain your debt
– you borrowed borrowed money from Europe, and this is the operating
principle and procedure of the Federal Reserve System. International
banking cartels own America's debt. The Federal Reserve System is
the middleman, who collects our interest payments, to repay
International loans. However, the "money" that we borrow to buy
our houses and properties is not real money. That means that $5.00 is
worth nothing – not even a penny – which is why, in fact, you
don't own anything – including your paid off houses.
Now, when the international banking cabals get their interest payments
from their international loans, they buy (and hoard) gold, silver,
platinum, etc., and they buy land, natural resources, politicians, and
corporations. They then set up philanthropic organizations and give
grant money to those governments and organizations willing to forward
their political and economic agendas, and they take these agendas into
and through national governments. These international banking cabals are
also members of the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign
Relations, the Bilderburg group, and other cabal organizations, and I
strongly suspect that at the apex of that group are a very few people
and "families."
I'm no genius, and I'm a far better cook than social
commentator, but it has become very clear to me that our belief in the
right to own property, and its link to "freedom," is 1)
absolutely true and 2) the biggest deception that the American people
have been operating under for AT LEAST the last 100 years.
Do you recall our president stating, several years ago, that the goal
was to have all American families own houses? And do you recall the drop
in interest rates for about 5 years or so, as we all went out and bought
houses and property like bees to honey? And we all bought more than we
could actually afford due to those low interest rates - living large, so
to speak?
What do you suppose is going to happen when 1) the real estate bubble
bursts, and the value of our mortgaged properties drop like dead birds
in flight, and 2) our pretend money, which purchased pretend "homes
to own," becomes unusable – say in an "emergency," or a
Martial Law scenario, where all banks and money can be "legally

The following was submitted to the National Association of Chiefs of
Police. These are the thoughts of the US Border Patrol Agents Local
2544:
While President Bush and many of our politicians are selling us out
we need millions of "good hearted" Americans who actually care about
what we do to back us up. The country continues to be overrun with
thousands more illegal aliens every single day folks. We're losing this
battle - big time.
This isn't some concocted story, it's a fact from the front lines.
If you want to live in a dream world ask the people in Washington D.C.
what's going on. They'll confuse you with the pretty talk they learn in
politicians' school (classes currently being administered by Vicente Fox
in Cancun, Mexico). If you want to know the real story ask us.
Amnesty DOES NOT WORK. They tried it in 1986. It was an absolute
disaster. George Bush steadfastly refuses to listen to the people who
put him in office.
Half a million protesters in Los Angeles, 20,000 in Phoenix, more in
Denver and all over the country. Gee.......anybody think there is an
illegal immigration problem in this country? [ Almost all are flying a
foreign flag on U.S. sovereign soil and demanding that we not enforce
our existing laws. ]
The vast majority of the protesters are illegal aliens, led by
radical illegal immigration activists. The illegal aliens are not afraid
of arrest, they are not afraid to be on television, they are not afraid
to physically assault counter-protesters, they have demanded an
"apology" from the Mayor of Phoenix for rightfully demanding that the
protesters work with the City to plan instead of shutting down
businesses and homes by parking everywhere they shouldn't be (come on
Mayor, that's just another silly government law or regulation to be
ignored, just like our immigration laws).
Maybe this will wake some people up. We doubt it. We can already see
our spineless senators and congressmen hiding under their desks instead
of taking a stand against this rampant lawlessness. Shame on them for
letting things get this bad.
Thousands more arriving daily and our President still trumpeting
amnesty to encourage them to keep coming, so don't expect improvement
anytime soon. As usual, anyone who opposes these people's ideology is
automatically, and most often without any justification whatsoever,
labeled a "racist". It's usually the people screaming "racists" that are
the real racists. Pretty sad state of affairs.
"We were overrun with aliens. A lot more got away than were caught."
- This is a quote sent to us from a veteran agent who returned from a
long camp detail in Tucson Sector last week. The country continues to be
overrun with illegal aliens. We aren't coming close to stopping them,
and most of the time we don't even slow them down too much. Don't
believe anyone who even hints that our borders resemble anything that is
"under control" (especially top-level DHS/CBP managers).
The old mantra of "as we gain operational control of (such-and-such)
part of the border" is something designed to mislead the public into
thinking we're making some sort of progress. There is no overall
progress. Things are completely out of control at the border.

Americans don’t love a good mystery. We prefer an
action drama with an explosive, reassuring ending,
even though it’s nuclear.
In some ways, 9/11 is the most important unsolved
mystery that will ever be faced or ignored by
humankind. It involves ultimate questions of human
trust in governance, of trust in the power of state
both to manage generally, and to manage public
perception of realities big and small in a time when
the public has unprecedented information it could
access. Of course the most expansive mystery our own
country has ever not solved is the 1960s.
Context is everything. How is it that a government
could become so debased it would blatantly participate
in the murder of 3,000 of its people, and most
importantly, how did the people ever grow so capable
of digesting a totally insufficient if not impossible
official explanation, when so much reasonable evidence
points to the so-called terror attacks being simply a
classic “false flag” operation, spawned from within?
Attacking oneself and blaming it on another country or
faction is an old, proven tactic, like it or not.
The self-mutilation we saw in New York, Washington,
D.C, and now elsewhere is designed to make an
otherwise unacceptable militarist agenda appealing to
a scared, angry, demoralized public. The curiously

Americans don’t love a good mystery. We prefer an
action drama with an explosive, reassuring ending,
even though it’s nuclear.
In some ways, 9/11 is the most important unsolved
mystery that will ever be faced or ignored by
humankind. It involves ultimate questions of human
trust in governance, of trust in the power of state
both to manage generally, and to manage public
perception of realities big and small in a time when
the public has unprecedented information it could
access. Of course the most expansive mystery our own
country has ever not solved is the 1960s.
Context is everything. How is it that a government
could become so debased it would blatantly participate
in the murder of 3,000 of its people, and most
importantly, how did the people ever grow so capable
of digesting a totally insufficient if not impossible
official explanation, when so much reasonable evidence
points to the so-called terror attacks being simply a
classic “false flag” operation, spawned from within?
Attacking oneself and blaming it on another country or
faction is an old, proven tactic, like it or not.
The self-mutilation we saw in New York, Washington,
D.C, and now elsewhere is designed to make an
otherwise unacceptable militarist agenda appealing to
a scared, angry, demoralized public. The curiously

Folks, I believe it is now (past) time to put together a group of Veterans for 9/11 Truth.
I know one or two web designers who would be more than a tad interested in bringing this effort to the attention of the American public.
But there's just one uh, little problem. In order to start this effort, we need to ask first for just ONE Veteran to stand up and announce that such a group has been formed. Once this effort has begun, others will certainly follow.
Might you be that ONE?
I would do it, but unfortunately? I am not a vet.
Granted. It almost seems unfair to ask any war veteran to do this. After all, our soldiers have already put their lives on the line once (or in some cases, multiple times, in multiple wars, in multiple tours of duty).
And c'mon, let's face it. If you are the ONE who starts the Veterans for 9/11 Truth group? You are not *exactly* going to receive a mess of Purple Hearts for saving the lives of future Americans in future US False Flag Ops Terror Attacks.
Cowards need not apply for this assignment. You're going to have to be one really brave dude or dudette to start Veterans for 9/11 Truth. But chances are, if you signed up for duty (or got drafted) you are already one awesome, courageous patriot.
And what, after all (if you really think about it) could be any more patriotic than bringing the truth to the table with regard to how we got into these bloody wars in the first place?
I wrote a few months back to a pal who's active in Vets for Peace and asked him, point blank, Why Oh Why won't the Vets start talking about 9/11 Truth (which was, as I argued, the very *basis* for these devastating killing wars upon Afghanistan and Iraq)? I could read this fellow's sigh (pretty incredible when you can "read" a sigh right through an email two states away) as he replied that the thinking at the top is that they would not entertain going into 9/11 Truth until there were some more credible experts who would come forth with more conclusive evidence that something was wrong with the 9/11 official story.
I certainly can't blame them for that. If one's national group appears to be merely another lunatic whack job bunch of crazy "conspiracy theorists," it's certainly not going to be easy to get the government to listen to them about stopping wars.
Right. Like this war-happy government is listening to the vets on the subject of peace.
And if a group is seen as marginal, how can they ever seriously consider getting funding for DU testing legislation and veterans' disability benefits to take care of the untold numbers of sick, suffering, and dying troops who are victims of Depleted Uranium (DU) poisoning and other warfare-laced cocktails of US-issued chemical, biological, and vaccination-related illnesses?
Again, right. Like this charitable, benevolent government of theirs is going to boost veterans' benefits - or even *ever* take good and proper care of their "disposable" soldiers - for any reason whatsoever.
Believe that and I have some protective gear to keep you safe from uranium radiation on the wasted battlefields of Iraq.
Keep dreaming, vets, if you think that keeping quiet about 9/11 is going to achieve anything - with the possible exception of a handsome feather in the cap of their lead "organizers" who are setting the groups' agendas and controlling how far Truth is allowed to go.
I mean, come on. Certainly with George Nelson Colonel, USAF (ret.) and Dr. Robert Bowman, USAF Lt. Col (ret.) on board already in not only dis-believing the "official 9/11 story" but also talking out in public? I can not imagine what would be the need for any more credible witnesses than a Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel to come forth...
We've already got more than enough evidence and credible sources right now to try a good number of federal employees for high crimes, misdemeanors, and yes - treason. So what's the real deal here about the refusal of the ex-soldier groups to demand that their ex-employer to do a proper criminal investigation into 9/11?
Maybe you know someone who's served in the armed forces who has their own questions about 9/11?
Maybe you'd be willing to ask them if they would become part of a national effort to investigate this entire business of this so-called "War On Terror" that began on 9/11?
Maybe you can ask vets you know if they'd be willing to stand up and join with other former brothers and sisters in arms?
Maybe together they will stand up and ask their former federal employer to explain to them precisely *why* 9/11 (a criminal mass murder of nearly 3,000 that was never properly investigated) was used as the official reason to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, effectively killing unknown thousands of our own soldiers (not to mention killing, wounding, and sickening millions of innocent Middle Eastern civilians).
All it takes is just ONE Veteran to start this effort. Maybe you will be the ONE - or know someone you can ask to be that ONE?
The formation of Veterans for 9/11 Truth is only ONE awesome ex-soldier away.

WASHINGTON — In a disturbing turn of events for an administration
already plagued by sagging poll numbers and waning support for the Iraq
war, Friday's revelation that the Bush Administration issued direct
guidelines for programming to media outlets is troubling even die-hard
conservatives.
Late Friday a series of memos between senior Bush Administration
officials and management at Viacom, Inc. were leaked calling for the
media giant to focus on stories and programming choices that "reinforce
the Administration's positions" and to "ignore and/or discredit points
of view in opposition to the Bush Administration's foreign policy
objectives for the purposes of National Security."
Democrats and key civil rights figures were quick to comment on this
latest chapter of alleged government malfeasance. Democratic Senator
Barbara Boxer issued a statement calling for a congressional inquiry.
"This is it. This is a smoking gun. For years we've been saying that
liberal and moderate points of view aren't being accurately reflected
in the media and this proves our point. The Bush Administration is
clearly out of touch with the American people, and Viacom should be
ashamed."
Other prominent figures were less forgiving. Rev. Al Sharpton called
the memos "treasonous" and "genocidal" and reiterated his desire for
impeachment proceedings to commence. "What we have here is a complete
disregard for the law, for what is morally correct and for the will of
the people. It's been no secret to anyone with a brain that the
majority of programming that we are exposed to by certain companies is
negative, but now it's out in the open. Look at BET. Look at the
exclusion of voices that accurately represent communities of color.
It's insidious."
Media companies have come under increasing fire as of late for their
portrayal of minorities and for inaccuracies in reporting stories of
interest to activist communities.
Most recently, estimates in the participation numbers of protesters at
anti-immigration legislation rallies were hotly disputed.
The media's alleged embracing of artists and stories depicting people
of color in a derogatory manner has become a hot-topic issue with media
watchdog groups and prominent entertainment commentators alike.
Davey D, a San Francisco-based music writer and hip-hop historian,
echoed the sentiment. "It's true, there is no balance in the media,
especially in hip-hop, where the negativity is most prevalent. All we
hear of on a commercial level is pimps, players and gangsters. That's
not all us. What about the revolutionary voices? What about artists
like The Coup? Like Public Enemy and Paris? They have a new album out
together that speaks on exactly what's going on right now, but they
don't get played on commercial radio. We've always argued that our
voices are systematically suppressed. Well, here's the proof."
Not all agree, however. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist took a more
defensive stance. "Of course it raises some concerns, but we can't let
this issue be blown out of proportion. Of course there have to be media
guidelines. Hell, if we want to plant I.D. chips in people and torture
their loved ones until they break, we will. I know the idea of
governmental control over what the media can or cannot say during
wartime may be an uncomfortable topic for some to digest, but it is a
necessary fact of life when our enemies are trying to kill us."
Debra L. Lee, president and CEO of Viacom's Black Entertainment
Television, agrees. "Even though our moniker is BET, our allegiance
lies with our government and its directives, not the African-American
community. Anyone who believes that we will endorse messages in
contrast to our government's wishes, or that express dissent, is sorely
mistaken."
Some entertainment industry insiders are becoming increasingly
concerned, however. One longtime employee of Interscope Records, a
leading record label and home to rap superstars 50 Cent and Eminem,
stated recently under the condition of anonymity that the company "has
a unique relationship with Viacom" and that it "deliberately focuses on
marketing campaigns that depict black people in the worst possible
light." When told of Rev. Sharpton's likening of the practice to
'genocide' on African-Americans, he agreed wholeheartedly, but
expressed fears of reprisal should he publicly address his concerns.
"It's beyond national security. That was the reason given at first, but
now they just tell us what we have to endorse, and what we have to
avoid." He added, "these kids eat it up. They don't know the difference
between what's real and what's fake."
An Interscope company spokesperson was unavailable for comment.
"We will get to the bottom of this," Sharpton continued, "and heads
will roll. Now that their practices of propaganda are common knowledge
even Americans with limited political awareness will demand change."

Stranger than Fiction Part II
On October 26, 1999, the famous golfer Payne Stewart
boarded a private Learjet in Florida and left for
Texas. Shortly after takeoff, Stewart's jet veered
sharply off course and began heading northwest. All
contact with air controllers was lost. Within 15
minutes of having gone off course, US fighter jets had
already intercepted the jet.
Everyone on board was likely dead due to
depressurization. These fighter jets were dispatched
by NORAD, the branch of the US air force whose job is
to monitor and defend US airspace 24 hours a day.
NORAD maintains a huge array of land based radar
systems and has fighter jets on alert 24 hours a day
so that they can respond to any crisis. The jets
escorted the doomed airplane until another group of
Air National Guard jets took over the escort mission.
Finally, Stewart's jet ran out of fuel and crashed in
South Dakota. The quick reaction time and military
precision with which NORAD intercepted and escorted
Stewart's jet was impressive, and exactly what one
would have expected from the greatest military power
in world history. 86
But on 9-11, the same NORAD which had so effortlessly
intercepted Stewart's jet in 1999, was nowhere to be
found during that two hour period between the first
planes going off course and the last one crashing in a
Pennsylvania field. How is it possible that the
airspace between Boston and Washington DC, an area
which contains the political and economic heart of the
nation, was left completely defenseless? The second
plane to hit the New York had flown off course without
communication for 40 minutes. On its way to New York,
it actually flew within a few miles of McGuire Air
Force base in New Jersey, after the first tower had
already been hit! And how is it possible that
Washington DC was left undefended (long after the New
York attacks) when Andrews Air Force base is within
car driving distance? The air force jets which did
finally arrive were too late. Was this due to NORAD's
incompetence, or was the order to scramble the fighter
jets deliberately delayed so that the attacks could
take place. Given NORAD's impressive performance in
the 1999 Payne Stewart disaster, this would suggest
that someone high up in the Air Force establishment
may have issued stand down orders to some of our Air
Force bases. Remember, the Pentagon's Defense Policy
Board is headed by "zionist" Richard Perle and his
gang of warmongering lackeys.87 The civilians on this
board wield the power to promote career minded
Generals and Admirals. Is it really that hard to
believe that a highly placed military leader could
have collaborated with the true 9-11

[The neocons and the Israel lobby are presently involved in two major activities: 1. Conspicuously shouting at the tops of their lungs that they don't exist and 2. Conspicuously shouting at the tops of their lungs that the United States should expand the war in Iraq against Iran. Does it ever get crazier than this? Hardly ever.]
Lately, I've discussed the possibility of a US strike on Iran with a broad range of experts, Middle East watchers and intellectuals. Almost without exception, they believe such aggression won't happen, pointing to the lives and treasure the US has already squandered in Iraq and the difficulties in selling a new war to the American public that is becoming ever more jaundiced.
Some observers contend the US is merely engaged in a complex game of poker and when push comes to shove would not risk endangering the world's oil market and pushing up prices to unimaginable heights. Are they right?
If any other US administration were in the White House, I might feel the same way. But when you have a born-again president, who believes his wars are Creator-inspired, advised by a bunch of "Israel first" neocon ideologues, and others whose pockets are bulging from war-related defense or reconstruction contracts, then the answer to "will they, or won't they?" is, sadly, anyone's guess.

The lunatics have taken over the asylum. Even as most rational people realize that the invasion of Iraq was oiled on the back of fake pretexts and downright lies, the US and its allies are beating their war drums against Iran, using exactly the same pretexts.
The really frightening component is that so many of us are willing to be conned all over again just three years on.
A few days ago, I watched the latest "Doha Debate" on BBC World, moderated by Tim Sebastian. The motion was "Iran poses the greatest threat to security in the region," supported by more than 36 percent of the audience.
It's surely mind-boggling that so many consider Iran the greatest threat when it is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and there is absolutely no proof that it is developing nuclear weapons.
Conversely, Israel isn't, though it has at least 200 nuclear warheads pointing at Middle Eastern states, nuclear-armed submarines patrolling the Gulf, and has actually threatened to bomb Iranian nuclear sites, just as it did Iraq's Osirak reactor in June 1981.
One member of the audience, who said he was an American, told the panel that he considered the US posed the greatest threat to the region -- a comment which received hearty applause.
It's hard to believe that just five years ago, Iran was quietly going about its business, opening up, liberalizing and sending positive signals to the international community.
Those were the day when CNN's Christiane Amanpour, award-winning journalist and Washington insider, took us on a sentimental journey to her childhood home and introduced us to some of her more liberal friends.
During a Feb. 28, 2000, interview, Amanpour said: "I believe the United States has been very aware of the changes taking place ever since the election of (Mohammed) Khatami, nearly three years ago.
"And I believe that Khatami's interview with me -- the only interview he's given -- when he extended an olive branch to the United States, was a first step. I believe it is now up to the United States to take a fresh approach to Iran and to come up with significant gestures . . . Whenever I go to Iran, I am overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of people telling me that they, too, wish to have renewed ties with the United States"
Around the same time, the BBC's John Simpson was also reported that young Iranians were excited at the prospect of change.
Just a year later, the US duly came up with a significant gesture.
But instead of praising Iran for its newly enlightened path, it was included in George Bush's "Axis of Evil." This, more than anything, proves to me that the Bush administration had no intention of cementing friendly ties with Iran due to a long-held agenda. Since, just like Iraq, Iran can do no right.
However, unlike Iraq, which attempted to appease the Security Council by reopening its doors to weapons inspectors in 2002, Iran is flexing its military muscle in the expectation of US or Israeli pre-emptive strikes.
It's becoming clear that Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad isn't prepared to dance a diplomatic tango, as did Saddam Hussein. And, frankly, who can blame him when he looks at the state of Iran's neighbor, for whom "democracy" has become a dirty, or more accurately, a bloody word.
The Iranian government realizes that appeasement won't necessarily lead to peace and security. It has gone on the offensive apparently recruiting 40,000 human "time bombs" to be used in case of conflict, carrying out massive military exercises in the Gulf and testing long-range near-stealth missiles as well as a high-speed torpedo.
Rather less in our face is Western saber rattling. While Condoleezza Rice and her UK counterpart, Jack Straw, are traveling around urging a diplomatic solution, the Daily Telegraph's defense correspondent Sean Rayment provides an inkling of what's going on behind closed doors.
"The (British) government is to hold secret talks with defense chiefs tomorrow to discuss possible military strikes against Iran," writes Rayment. "It is believed that an American-led attack, designed to destroy Iran's ability to develop a nuclear bomb, is 'inevitable' if Tehran's leaders fail to comply with United Nations demands to freeze their uranium enrichment program."
This follows on from a report in the Aug. 1, 2005, issue of "The American Conservative," beginning: "In Washington it is hardly a secret that the same people in and around the administration that brought you Iraq are preparing to do the same for Iran."
The report says a plan drawn up by the Pentagon, on instructions from Vice President Dick Cheney, includes a large-air assault on Iran employing both conventional and tactical weapons. "Several senior Air Force officers involved in the planning are reportedly appalled at the implications of what they are doing -- that Iran is being set up for an unprovoked nuclear attack -- but no one is prepared to damage his career by posing any objections."
It is believed that small tactical nuclear weapons might be used -- of the type able to destroy facilities deep underground.
Lately, I've discussed the possibility of a US strike on Iran with a broad range of experts, Middle East watchers and intellectuals. Almost without exception, they believe such aggression won't happen, pointing to the lives and treasure the US has already squandered in Iraq and the difficulties in selling a new war to the American public that is becoming ever more jaundiced.
Some observers contend the US is merely engaged in a complex game of poker and when push comes to shove would not risk endangering the world's oil market and pushing up prices to unimaginable heights. Are they right?
If any other US administration were in the White House, I might feel the same way. But when you have a born-again president, who believes his wars are Creator-inspired, advised by a bunch of "Israel first" neocon ideologues, and others whose pockets are bulging from war-related defense or reconstruction contracts, then the answer to "will they, or won't they?" is, sadly, anyone's guess.

A Coral Springs lawmaker (State Representative and a Broward County
Prosecuting Attorney) is pushing a bill he hopes will end easy outs of
DUI convictions by forcing offenders to submit to a breath, blood or
urine test or spend a year in jail.

TALLAHASSEE - It's the not-so-secret
way to avoid a DUI record: Refuse to submit to a breath test. You'll
lose your license for a year but won't face criminal charges.
The state Legislature looks poised to change that with a bill that
would make it a crime -- punishable by one year in jail -- for
drunken-driving suspects to refuse a breath, blood or urine test.
''The word is around: If you're drinking, refuse to blow,'' state
Rep. Irv Slosberg, a Boca Raton Democrat, said Tuesday at the House
Justice Council, a group of lawmakers that deals with criminal justice
issues.
``The problem is too many people are refusing to blow, and more and
more DUI offenders are on the streets.´´
The bill, which has been met with unanimous approval from four House
committees, is sponsored by Rep. Ari Porth, a Coral Springs Democrat and
Broward prosecutor.
''My colleagues at home care so much about this because they're in
the courtrooms every day fighting to make sure that drunk drivers are
off the roads,'' Porth said. ``It´s tremendously important to them and
important to our communities. It´s a good public-safety measure.´´
Under existing law, drivers who refuse to submit to a DUI test on
their first offense can lose their license for a year, but they aren't
charged criminally in the absence of breath test results.
Only drivers who refuse a test on a subsequent stop face misdemeanor
charges and jail time.
Nancy Daniels, public defender for Leon, Franklin, Gadsden,
Jefferson, Liberty and Wakulla counties, said the penalties in place now
for refusing an alcohol test are sufficient.
''There already is a substantial penalty for refusing a breath test,
and that is losing your license for a year,'' Daniels said.
``This would mean go to jail for a year simply for not wishing to
give the breath test. We understand the intent of the bill, but these
penalties are very harsh.´´
Nonetheless, Porth said a companion bill also has good momentum in the
Senate, where its main sponsor is New Port Ritchie Republican Mike
Fasano.
A second part of the bill would shield manufacturers of breath-test
machines from having to hand over to DUI defense attorneys software and
other technology about the devices.
Defense attorneys across the state have asked judges to force
prosecutors to give them source-code information about the Intoxilyzer
5000 breath-test device.
Source code is computer language that instructs the machine how to
calculate alcohol results.
The Intoxilyzer maker says such information is a trade secret, and
officials won't give it up to prosecutors.
Judges in Sarasota, Manatee, Seminole and Orange counties have ruled
that prosecutors must turn over the source code. As a result, dozens of
breath-test readings have been thrown out because prosecutors said they
did not have access to the source-code information.
''It's a fishing expedition that defense attorneys are going on to
keep these cases from being prosecuted,'' Porth said. ``The source
code has nothing to do with the accuracy or precision of the
tests.´´
Despite the lack of opposition the bill has faced from committee
members, some say it would create a hardship for drivers and a possible
constitutional issue.
Howard Simon, executive director of American Civil Liberties Union's
Florida chapter, said barring an attorney from obtaining source-code
data would interfere with the right to a fair trial.
''This sounds like asking a defense lawyer to practice law with one
hand tied behind their back,'' Simon said. ``How is somebody going to
fulfill their legal and ethical responsibility to represent their client
when they are being denied necessary information about how the
[breath-test] technology operates?´´

And c'mon, let's face it. If you are the ONE who starts the Veterans for 9/11 Truth group? You are not *exactly* going to receive a mess of Purple Hearts for saving the lives of future Americans in future US False Flag Ops Terror Attacks.
Cowards need not apply for this assignment. You're going to have to be one really brave dude or dudette to start Veterans for 9/11 Truth. But chances are, if you signed up for duty (or got drafted) you are already one awesome, courageous patriot.
And what, after all (if you really think about it) could be any more patriotic than bringing the truth to the table with regard to how we got into these bloody wars in the first place?
I wrote a few months back to a pal who's active in Vets for Peace and asked him, point blank, Why Oh Why won't the Vets start talking about 9/11 Truth (which was, as I argued, the very *basis* for these devastating killing wars upon Afghanistan and Iraq)? I could read this fellow's sigh (pretty incredible when you can "read" a sigh right through an email two states away) as he replied that the thinking at the top is that they would not entertain going into 9/11 Truth until there were some more credible experts who would come forth with more conclusive evidence that something was wrong with the 9/11 official story.
I certainly can't blame them for that. If one's national group appears to be merely another lunatic whack job bunch of crazy "conspiracy theorists," it's certainly not going to be easy to get the government to listen to them about stopping wars.
Right. Like this war-happy government is listening to the vets on the subject of peace.
And if a group is seen as marginal, how can they ever seriously consider getting funding for DU testing legislation and veterans' disability benefits to take care of the untold numbers of sick, suffering, and dying troops who are victims of Depleted Uranium (DU) poisoning and other warfare-laced cocktails of US-issued chemical, biological, and vaccination-related illnesses?
Again, right. Like this charitable, benevolent government of theirs is going to boost veterans' benefits - or even *ever* take good and proper care of their "disposable" soldiers - for any reason whatsoever.
Believe that and I have some protective gear to keep you safe from uranium radiation on the wasted battlefields of Iraq.
Keep dreaming, vets, if you think that keeping quiet about 9/11 is going to achieve anything - with the possible exception of a handsome feather in the cap of their lead "organizers" who are setting the groups' agendas and controlling how far Truth is allowed to go.
I mean, come on. Certainly with George Nelson Colonel, USAF (ret.) and Dr. Robert Bowman, USAF Lt. Col (ret.) on board already in not only dis-believing the "official 9/11 story" but also talking out in public? I can not imagine what would be the need for any more credible witnesses than a Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel to come forth...
We've already got more than enough evidence and credible sources right now to try a good number of federal employees for high crimes, misdemeanors, and yes - treason. So what's the real deal here about the refusal of the ex-soldier groups to demand that their ex-employer to do a proper criminal investigation into 9/11?
Maybe you know someone who's served in the armed forces who has their own questions about 9/11?
Maybe you'd be willing to ask them if they would become part of a national effort to investigate this entire business of this so-called "War On Terror" that began on 9/11?
Maybe you can ask vets you know if they'd be willing to stand up and join with other former brothers and sisters in arms?
Maybe together they will stand up and ask their former federal employer to explain to them precisely *why* 9/11 (a criminal mass murder of nearly 3,000 that was never properly investigated) was used as the official reason to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, effectively killing unknown thousands of our own soldiers (not to mention killing, wounding, and sickening millions of innocent Middle Eastern civilians).
All it takes is just ONE Veteran to start this effort. Maybe you will be the ONE - or know someone you can ask to be that ONE?
The formation of Veterans for 9/11 Truth is only ONE awesome ex-soldier away.

In his book ¡°The Conspirator¡¯s Hierarchy,¡± Dr. John Coleman named Chomsky as a deep cover CIA agent working to undermine social protest groups. Certainly Dr. Coleman¡¯s claims appear validated by an honest review of Chomsky¡¯s role as a Left gatekeeper.
Since 9-11, he has steadfastly refused to discuss the evidence of government complicity and prior knowledge. Furthermore he claims that the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Bilderberg Committee, and Trilateral Commission are ¡°nothing organizations.¡± When critiquing poverty, he never mentions the Federal Reserve and their role in manipulating the cycle of debt.
Similarly, he claims the CIA was never a rogue organization and is an innocent scapegoat; that JFK was killed by the lone assassin Lee Harvey Oswald; that the obvious vote fraud in 2004 did not occur; and that peak oil is real and good for humanity.

Chomsky¡¯s role in propaganda paradigm is much like that of Karl Marx: to present a false liberation ideology which actually supports the desired solutions of the elite. Marx pointed out the inequalities and brutality of capitalism and then advocated a one world bank, army, and government with the abolition of private property and religion; in other words, the major goals known of the New World Order.
Tens of millions of activists worldwide still remain trapped by this scam, failing to recognize the inherent autocratic and elitist structures of Marxism-Leninism or the newer incarnation under Chomsky.
The Globalist elites and their army of social scientists at the Tavistock Institute understand that people are going to question the inequities of the current economic system. For example, why is wealth distributed so unevenly between classes and countries? Why are those living in third world nations allowed to die from preventable diseases and starvation?
Why does the U.S. government sponsor and direct such murderous foreign policy? Why was America attacked on 9-11?
In other words, why is the world embroiled in such violence? Who is behind all this suffering? And most importantly, what solutions would relieve the poverty and destruction plaguing the worldwide population?
Enter Chomsky, the controlled opposition, to play the role of re-direct agent. He discusses a mere fraction of the real elite manipulation and then quickly pushes his followers into dead-end solutions and alienating rhetoric. Is it a coincidence that all of those magazines receive major funding from Globalist front-groups like the Rockefeller Foundation, Ford Foundation, Carnegie Endowment, and MacArthur Foundation?
Chomsky may be the head gatekeeper, but he works alongside a network of fellow Globalist assets like Amy Goodman who do their best to appear radical while avoiding all the hardcore issues and deliberately leading the Left into oblivion.
The following analysis will show that Noam Chomsky is a deep cover agent for the New World Order, a master of black propaganda whose true motives become clear with a sober and honest examination.

Noam Chomsky has acted as the premier Left gatekeeper in the aftermath of the 9-11 crimes, lashing out at the 9-11 truth movement and claiming any suggestions of government complicity are fabrications. The ¡°radical¡± Chomsky takes a position so deeply rooted in denial that it makes the staged 9-11 whitewash commission look like an honest study. He belligerently refuses to discuss any of the massive evidence proving government foreknowledge and participation in the crimes, claiming it would destroy the activist movements worldwide:
¡°If the left spends its time on this, that's the end of the left, in my
opinion: the mainstream would be utterly delighted. It is highly
likely that nothing significant will be found. And if --
which I very greatly doubt -- something is found that would quickly send everyone in Washington to the death chamber, the left is unlikely to emerge triumphant.¡±
In other words, Chomsky is telling his followers to ignore the evidence because according to him, none exists. However even if there is massive evidence, responsible activists should ignore it because it would be ¡°the end of the Left.¡± Chomsky¡¯s role as a 9-11 gatekeeper goes even further as he denies each piece of evidence individually. The following examples should suffice:
A) As most honest 9-11 researchers know, 7 of the accused 19 hijackers are alive, proving the official story is a fabrication. Many of the remaining 12 were trained as U.S. Air Force bases and CIA-connected Huffman Aviation. Many of the accused ¡°religious fanatics¡± acted more like degenerate contract agents, as they flashed wads of cash, visited strip clubs, drank profusely, blew cocaine, smoked weed, cavorted with strippers and had strange meetings in the drug-rich Florida keys.
Men like Mohammed Atta fit the MO of an undercover CIA drug runner: a man trained at U.S. Air Force bases, fluent in many languages, able to evade INS regulations, working with drug dealers, and receiving wired bank funds from CIA-linked Pakistani intelligence. There remains no photographic evidence of these supposed hijackers ever getting on the planes (walking through airport security does not count). Furthermore, the autopsy list of Flight 77 which supposedly hit the Pentagon listed none of the accused hijackers.
Regarding the evidence of government complicity in training the hijackers, Chomsky wrote the following:
Nothing empirical is impossible. Thus, it is conceivable that everyone
in the White House is totally insane. And in my opinion, that's what
they would have had to be to try something that would have been very
likely to turn into an utter fiasco, and if by some miracle had succeeded,
would almost certainly have leaked, so that they would all be facing the
death sentence. Possible, but not likely.

Keep dreaming, vets, if you think that keeping quiet about 9/11 is going to achieve anything - with the possible exception of a handsome feather in the cap of their lead "organizers" who are setting the groups' agendas and controlling how far Truth is allowed to go.
I mean, come on. Certainly with George Nelson Colonel, USAF (ret.) and Dr. Robert Bowman, USAF Lt. Col (ret.) on board already in not only dis-believing the "official 9/11 story" but also talking out in public? I can not imagine what would be the need for any more credible witnesses than a Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel to come forth...
We've already got more than enough evidence and credible sources right now to try a good number of federal employees for high crimes, misdemeanors, and yes - treason. So what's the real deal here about the refusal of the ex-soldier groups to demand that their ex-employer to do a proper criminal investigation into 9/11?
Maybe you know someone who's served in the armed forces who has their own questions about 9/11?
Maybe you'd be willing to ask them if they would become part of a national effort to investigate this entire business of this so-called "War On Terror" that began on 9/11?
Maybe you can ask vets you know if they'd be willing to stand up and join with other former brothers and sisters in arms?
Maybe together they will stand up and ask their former federal employer to explain to them precisely *why* 9/11 (a criminal mass murder of nearly 3,000 that was never properly investigated) was used as the official reason to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, effectively killing unknown thousands of our own soldiers (not to mention killing, wounding, and sickening millions of innocent Middle Eastern civilians).
All it takes is just ONE Veteran to start this effort. Maybe you will be the ONE - or know someone you can ask to be that ONE?

DeLay Quits Congress Admitting Failure
Dear judy,
Congressmember Tom DeLay, known as "The Hammer" for his legendary ability to wield raw power, once boasted of doing whatever it takes to create a "permanent conservative Congress."
Instead, early this morning he announced that he’s resigning his House seat in disgrace, acknowledging that his misconduct has brought such scorn to his party that it could lose control of Congress this November.
President Bush, now supported by only 34% of his citizens, is shaking up his staff and hitting the road in a desperate attempt to appear competent and on a rational course.
The wheels are coming off of the conservative wagon.
And TrueMajority members are part of that story. When things looked darkest, you turned despair into action. DeLay once appeared all-powerful, and all corrupt, so you dogged DeLay at every turn. A full year ago, 75,000 TrueMajority members petitioned Congress to drop DeLay from his leadership post; when his indictment was announced, you petitioned again to have him removed from Congress entirely. And in the meantime, TrueMajority members in DeLay's home district paraded a 6-foot effigy of Uncle Sam spanking Tom DeLay for his misdeeds. After twelve months of effort, one of the worst examples of congressional misbehavior is now out the door.
And there's more. You opposed Bush’s attack on Iraq before it happened, seeing through the manipulation of public demand for action after 9/11; now the majority of Americans agree with you. You stopped the attack on Social Security and the raid on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and pushed hard for Sen. John McCain's successful effort to ban torture by U.S. troops.
Of course we didn’t win on all these by ourselves. Progressives have come together as never before. TrueMajority sometimes led the way, sometimes worked in close coalition with other groups. But always you spoke truth to power, and in so doing helped galvanize public opinion against the corruption and hatred and selfishness that characterize the bunch that currently controls Congress and the White House.
There’ll be lots more about that, but I wanted to pass along the word that DeLay has left Congress in tatters, and his gang’s day of accountability is near.
