More Propaganda: Hezbollah Trained in Iran

By Administrator on Uncategorized

No doubt this one will get wide play in the corporate media. “A Hizbollah fighter captured by Israel has told interrogators he received training in Iran and arrived there on a flight from Syria, a tape of the interrogation released by the Israeli army showed on Monday…. During questioning the man also confessed to taking part in the cross-border raid on July 12 in which two Israeli soldiers were captured, the incident which sparked the current conflict,” reports, or rather stenographs, Reuters.

Such a nice little package, all tied up with ribbon. Now we have “evidence”—by way of electrodes attached to testicles, no doubt—that Iran trains Hezbollah and Syria delivers these terrorists to carry out their dastardly deeds, for instance defending their country from hundreds of Israeli border incursions since they were kicked out in 2000. Of course, the Lebanese are not supposed to resist occupation and the brutality of the Israelis and simply throw their bodies under the blades of massive bulldozers (made in the USA) and the treads of Merkava tanks.

Note how Reuters simply repeats the lie that Hezbollah violated the border and “kidnapped” innocent Israeli soldiers. As previously noted here and elsewhere—although predictably and roundly ignored in the corporate media—the Israeli soldiers were captured as they infiltrated the Lebanese town of Aitaa al-Chaab, part of a larger pattern of not only illegal border crossings but also the shelling of villages, numerous air raids, attacks on Lebanese military positions, slaughtering civilians, and setting up installations on Lebanese soil, violations officially (if not uselessly) reported in letters from the ChargĂ© d’affaires of the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council. Naturally, none of this is mentioned by the corporate media as it continues a nauseating barrage of pro-Israel propaganda coupled with an endless of diet of hit pieces designed to demonize Hezbollah.

In order to understand the magnitude of the above mentioned brazen (and studiously ignored) crimes against Lebanese sovereignty, simply visit the United Nations Bibliographic Information System database. The following links point to PDF documents of the letters filed with the United Nations: January 4, 2006, February 3, 2006, February 6, 2006, March 3, 2006, April 4, 2006, May 4, 2006, May 30, 2006, and June 5, 2006. In the six month period documented by the letters, Israel violated Lebanese sovereignty 529 times.
