By somebigguy We have received confirmation of this story from two separate sources. Its interesting that the story can't be found anwhere in the media. Seen the movie? Post your review in the comments. The long awaited premier of Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime at the Tribeca Screening Room in New York City was temporarily disrupted when New York City police cordoned off the street to investigate claims of a suspicious package. Patrons of Robert DeNiro’s famed Tribeca Grill, which shares a building with DeNiro’s Tribeca Screening room, seemed unfazed by the sudden attention as several police vans and squad cars blocked off Greenwich Street with police barricades and emergency lights flashing.
This got the audience buzzing and the show was delayed by about 15 minutes, but went on undisturbed. It is unclear if the incident was related to the screening, which brought folks in from as far afield as Los Angeles, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania, including the editors of The Scope, a columnist from Rawstory.com, and a rep from LA Indie Film Awards (laindies.com). The film got a standing ovation and we should have some footage from the Town Hall shortly.
The premier itself went forward as scheduled after a brief delay. | |
