What
a great weekend. 5 rooms, packed to the rafters, overflowing with
people while the lobby, hallways,
restaurant, bar and entrance played
host to the remainder of the enthusiastic crowd.
Although I
could not see every presentation that I would have like to, I will
write a bit about the few that I was able to attend.
Presentation:
Pat Shannan Investigative reporter. www.patshannan.com Topic:
Government Atrocities and the News Media Cover-Up: Pat was initially
going to detail the Okalahoma City bombing as it was in his opinion,
and in the opinion of many others, the precursor to 9/11. However Pat
was so forthcoming with information on topic ranging from President
Lincoln to the assassinations of Lincoln, JFK, RFK and MLK that he was
never able to get to the Oklahoma City information! While one guest was
unhappy with Pats portrayal of Abraham Lincoln and eventually left the
presentation, the rest of the standing-room-only crowd was pretty much
mesmerized. Mr. Shannan made it clear that the media does not exactly
represent realty.
I spent some time talking to many of the
visitors and presenters. I had lunch with Carol Brouillet, leading 9/11
activist, creator of the Deception Dollar and maker of the film Behind
Every Terrorist There is a Bush!, which we will offer to our readers
next week. We discussed effective activism among a variety other things.

Meria Heller Leading Internet Journalist/Radio Host www.meria.net
I missed the beginning of her presentation but what I was able to catch
can only be described as brilliant. Meria spoke about being one of the
first Internet radio pioneers. She spoke of news and information that
you wont find in our corporate media; like health issues, vaccines,
real news, etc. One of Merias past guests was in the audience -
Charles Shaw ( http://chuckville.gnn.tv/ ).
He was openly grateful for and appreciative of Merias support and
work. His sentiments were felt by all in the audience.

9/11 and the Capitalist State: The Underlying Politics As usual Ralph
got my blood boiling. The information that he shares about the conduct
of our nation when it comes to undermining democracy, bio warfare,
disease creation, human guinea pig experimentation and the financial
kingpins of the global terror elite (the Carlyle Group, et. al.) simply
enrages me! Ralph made a clear case for the need to replace our
leadership in a real house cleaning!

I was only able to catch bits and pieces of Jims presentation
because I was bouncing between his presentation and Ralphs
presentation but I can tell you this he had the standing-room-only
crowd ready to take back their nation! He made sure that the people
realize the scope of the problems with our so-called leaders, and his
session ended with a crowd participation strategy session. Jim had the
people fired up to take actionmyself included.
I had to leave
early because I had to prepare for my presentation tomorrow morning,
and I have to get there nice and early. I am making this an early
night. More tomorrowor when I have time.

As reported by WMR on May 30, there are now further widely confirmed reports of U.S. war crimes committed against innocent Iraqi civilians. In addition to the Nov. 2005 Haditha massacre of civilians, including women and children, there is now a report that U.S. troops massacred civilians in the town of Ishaqi in March of this year. Ishaqi is 10 miles north of Balad. The Bush White House and Pentagon have responded to these war crimes by ordering specialized training for U.S. troops before they deploy to Iraq.
In addition to US political and military leaders, international law provides for the indictment of propagandists who stoke the flames of hate by supporting war crimes and the unlawful actions of governments during wartime. William Joyce (nicknamed Lord Haw Haw), an Irish-American broadcaster for Nazi Germany, was hanged for treason on 1946. Mildred Sisk (nicknamed Axis Sally), an American who broadcasted messages to Allied troops on Radio Berlin, was convicted of one count of treason following the war. U.S. citizen Iva Toguri D'Aquino ("Tokyo Rose"), a broadcaster for Japanese radio during World War II, was convicted of treason.
She was pardoned by President Gerald Ford in a deal that Ford's Chief of Staff, Dick Cheney, was involved. Ferdinand Nahimana and Jean-Bosco Barayagwiza, broadcasters for Rwanda's Radio Milles Collines, were indicted by the International War Crimes Tribunal for Rwanda for airing anti-Tutsi messages in 1994. Broadcasters like Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, and other venal broadcasters who are acting on behalf of the Bush administration in defending war crimes committed by U.S. forces in Iraq, may find themselves subject to future International Criminal Court investigations.

Bolivia's president has given more than 30,000 square km (18,600 sq
miles) of land to indigenous peasant communities under a programme of
agrarian reform.
Evo Morales launched the programme after landowners walked out of
talks with the government, warning they would take action to defend
their estates.
Thousands of peasants gathered in the centre of Santa Cruz to see Mr
Morales launch his agrarian revolution.
They cheered and waved rainbow flags symbolising indigenous resistance.
The venue for the ceremony was carefully chosen: Santa Cruz is the
home base of Bolivia's main landowners' federation, which is deeply
opposed to the land reform.
When its leaders walked out of talks with the government, they warned
that their members would form self-defence groups to protect their
estates.
But President Morales is clearly in no mood for compromise.
Bolivia's big landowners, he said, had to accept that the lands their
ancestors stole during the Spanish conquest five centuries ago would
now be returned to their original owners.
The land handed out on Saturday was already owned by the state.
But Evo Morales has said his government will also seize private
holdings that are judged not to be in productive use to meet his target
of redistributing around a fifth of Bolivia's total land area over the
next five years.

Yesterday on Fox’s Your World with Neil Cuvuto, U.N. Ambassador John
Bolton explicitly said that unilateral military action against Iran was
“on the table.” Bolton diplomatically added, “This is put up or shut up
time for Iran.” Watch it:

BOLTON: And I think when the President says it’s unacceptable, I think
what he means by that is that it’s unacceptable. So it’s important…
CAVUTO: But unacceptable means that if it keeps going on you’re going
to do something about it…
BOLTON: That no option is taken off the table. And Secretary…
CAVUTO: Military as well?
BOLTON: Exactly. Secretary Rice…
CAVUTO: Unilateral military action?
BOLTON: Secretary Rice made that point again today. But that’s why I
think…
CAVUTO: That we would, I’m sorry Ambassador, that we would act alone if

BOLTON: That’s why he says no option is taken off the table. But it’s
also why he has, the President, has reached out President Putin and
other leaders in the past couple of days to say, “We’re making a
significant step here,” that will be criticized by many of the
president’s staunchest supporters here at home. But he’s taking this
step to show strength and American leadership and to say he’s willing
to do something that may be unpopular even with some of his supporters,
to remove all excuses from Iran and its supporters to say, “We went the
extra mile. We gave Iran really, this last chance to show that they are
serious when they say they don’t want nuclear weapons.” This is put or
shut up time for Iran.

June 1, 2006 -- UPDATED -- Rocky shoals for Bush marriage? Informed
sources Inside the Beltway report that First Lady Laura Bush has
established temporary residence in the Mayflower Hotel in Washington,
DC as a result of a tiff with President Bush over an extramarital
relationship involving her husband. Mr. Bush's tryst is said to involve
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. It is not known how long Mrs. Bush
plans to remain at the Mayflower, however, her security detail has been
present at the hotel during hours when the First Lady would normally be
residing in the White House. While she was National Security Adviser,
Rice, who has never been married, referred to George W. Bush as "my
husband" before she corrected herself and said, "President. Bush" Rice
was speaking at a dinner hosted by New York Times bureau chief Philip
Taubman when she made her "husband" remarks.
June 2, 2006 -- A White House source, speaking on background,
vehemently denied to WMR that there are marital problems between
President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush over a reported extramarital
affair between Mr. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
However, two mainstream media sources have confirmed that their
sources also have reported an ongoing affair between Mr. Bush and Rice.
The mainstream media is hamstrung in reporting stories about Bush's
personal life. For example, in 2001, the media highlighted Bush's
comments about his passing out from choking on a pretzel while watching
a football game in the White House. In reality, Bush, who claims he
gave up drinking years ago, passed out from being inebriated.
Washington's movers and shakers knew the story about Bush's drinking
but the media studiously avoided it.
June 3, 2006 -- WMR can report that a Mayflower Hotel staffer has
confirmed that First Lady Laura Bush spent at least one night this past
week at the hotel, which is four blocks north of the White House. Mrs.
Bush reportedly moved out of the White House after a confrontation with
President Bush over his on-going affair with Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice. The Mayflower's official position on the story is
that they can "neither confirm nor deny" the identities of their
guests. Because it's penchant for security and secrecy is well known to
the Secret Service, the Mayflower has become a reliable hotel for U.S.
and international VIPs.
Some Washington observers believe that the recent flare up between
Laura Bush and the president stems from the fact that her poll numbers
are twice as favorable as her husband's (60 percent to 29 percent).
Laura Bush's recent solo missions to New Orleans, Colorado, and an AIDS
conference at the United Nations represent a virtual declaration of
independence from the most unpopular president in U.S. history. "She's
[Laura's] taking a page right out of Hillary's book," said one
Washington pundit. Rice, on the other hand, has been very close and
loyal to Bush since she signed on as his chief foreign policy adviser
in 2000. WMR has been told of intimate encounters between Mr. Bush and
Rice on trips to New York City (multiple occasions) and New Orleans
following Katrina.

MOGADISHU (Reuters) - Tens of thousands of people took to the streets
of Mogadishu on Friday angrily condemning the United States for
supporting warlords involved in clashes with Islamic militias that
claimed 16 more lives overnight.
"America is responsible for the death of our children and the elderly,"
Sheikh Nur Barud, a respected cleric in Mogadishu, told the crowd
chanting anti-American slogans.
"We are ready to defend our religion from the big American evil," read
a banner held high by Mogadishu resident Ureji Yusuf at the rally
protected by Islamic militia armed with machine guns, anti-aircraft
missiles and rocket-propelled grenades.
Tens of thousands of people surged through Tarbuunka square in the
Somali capital, voicing support for Islamic courts whose fighters have
been engaged in vicious clashes with a coalition of warlords many say
are funded by the United States.
Some 350 people have been killed in three bouts of heavy fighting since
the start of the year in the fighting that had focused on the capital
but has now moved beyond Mogadishu.
Fresh gun battles overnight in a remote village 15 km (9 miles) north
of Mogadishu killed 16 people, witnesses said.
"At least 16 have died from both sides and several others were
wounded," Ibrahim Moallim, a member of a so-called anti-terrorism
warlord coalition, told Reuters.
"I saw one of our dead militia."
Sources said the fighting had subsided by noon on Friday. But residents
said three people were killed in a blast after a motorcycle passed a
road in Bondere district of north Mogadishu.
"It's not clear whether it was a bomb or a mine," said Abdi Osman, a
resident who spoke to family members in Bondere.
"Three people were killed instantly, among them a woman and children.
Body parts were scattered all over the place."
Although also fueled by commercial and political motives, such fights
in and around Mogadishu are seen by many Somalis as a proxy war between
Islamists and the United States.
Somali officials say the United States is funding the warlord coalition
in return for attacks on Islamists it thinks are allied with or
sheltering al Qaeda suspects.
Washington has not commented except to say it welcomes support in its
"war on terror."
The U.S. government has long viewed Somalia, without a central

Environment in crisis: 'We are past the point of
no return'
Thirty years ago, the scientist James Lovelock
worked out that the Earth possessed a
planetary-scale control system which kept the
environment fit for life. He called it Gaia, and
the theory has become widely accepted. Now, he
believes mankind's abuse of the environment is
making that mechanism work against us. His
astonishing conclusion - that climate change is
already insoluble, and life on Earth will never be
the same again.

The world has already passed the point of no
return for climate change, and civilisation as we
know it is now unlikely to survive, according to
James Lovelock, the scientist and green guru who
conceived the idea of Gaia - the Earth which keeps
itself fit for life.
In a profoundly pessimistic new assessment,
published in today's Independent, Professor
Lovelock suggests that efforts to counter global
warming cannot succeed, and that, in effect, it is
already too late.
The world and human society face disaster to a
worse extent, and on a faster timescale, than
almost anybody realises, he believes. He writes: "
Before this century is over, billions of us will
die, and the few breeding pairs of people that
survive will be in the Arctic where the climate
remains tolerable."
In making such a statement, far gloomier than any
yet made by a scientist of comparable
international standing, Professor Lovelock accepts
he is going out on a limb. But as the man who
conceived the first wholly new way of looking at
life on Earth since Charles Darwin, he feels his
own analysis of what is happening leaves him no
choice. He believes that it is the self-regulating
mechanism of Gaia itself - increasingly accepted
by other scientists worldwide, although they
prefer to term it the Earth System - which,
perversely, will ensure that the warming cannot be
mastered.
This is because the system contains myriad
feedback mechanisms which in the past have acted
in concert to keep the Earth much cooler than it
otherwise would be. Now, however, they will come
together to amplify the warming being caused by
human activities such as transport and industry
through huge emissions of greenhouse gases such as
carbon dioxide (CO2 ).
It means that the harmful consequences of human
beings damaging the living planet's ancient
regulatory system will be non-linear - in other
words, likely to accelerate uncontrollably.
He terms this phenomenon "The Revenge of Gaia" and
examines it in detail in a new book with that
title, to be published next month.
The uniqueness of the Lovelock viewpoint is that
it is holistic, rather than reductionist. Although
he is a committed supporter of current research
into climate change, especially at Britain's
Hadley Centre, he is not looking at individual
facets of how the climate behaves, as other
scientists inevitably are. Rather, he is looking
at how the whole control system of the Earth
behaves when put under stress.
Professor Lovelock, who conceived the idea of Gaia
in the 1970s while examining the possibility of
life on Mars for Nasa in the US, has been warning
of the dangers of climate change since major
concerns about it first began nearly 20 years ago.
He was one of a select group of scientists who
gave an initial briefing on global warming to
Margaret Thatcher's Cabinet at 10 Downing Street
in April 1989.
His concerns have increased steadily since then,
as evidence of a warming climate has mounted. For
example, he shared the alarm of many scientists at
the news last September that the ice covering the
Arctic Ocean is now melting so fast that in 2005
it reached a historic low point.
Two years ago he sparked a major controversy with
an article in The Independent calling on
environmentalists to drop their long-standing
opposition to nuclear power, which does not
produce the greenhouses gases of conventional
power stations.
Global warming was proceeding so fast that only a
major expansion of nuclear power could bring it
under control, he said. Most of the Green movement
roundly rejected his call, and does so still.
Now his concerns have reached a peak - and have a
new emphasis. Rather than calling for further ways
of countering climate change, he is calling on
governments in Britain and elsewhere to begin
large-scale preparations for surviving what he now
sees as inevitable - in his own phrase today, "a
hell of a climate", likely to be in Europe up to
8C hotter than it is today.
In his book's concluding chapter, he writes: "What
should a sensible European government be doing
now? I think we have little option but to prepare
for the worst, and assume that we have passed the
threshold."
And in today's Independent he writes: "We will do
our best to survive, but sadly I cannot see the
United States or the emerging economies of China
and India cutting back in time, and they are the
main source of [CO2] emissions. The worst will
happen ..."
He goes on: "We have to keep in mind the awesome
pace of change and realise how little time is left
to act, and then each community and nation must
find the best use of the resources they have to
sustain civilisation for as long as they can." He
believes that the world's governments should plan
to secure energy and food supplies in the global
hothouse, and defences against the expected rise
in sea levels. The scientist's vision of what
human society may ultimately be reduced to through
climate change is " a broken rabble led by brutal
warlords."
Professor Lovelock draws attention to one aspect
of the warming threat in particular, which is that
the expected temperature rise is currently being
held back artificially by a global aerosol - a
layer of dust in the atmosphere right around the
planet's northern hemisphere - which is the
product of the world's industry.
This shields us from some of the sun's radiation
in a phenomenon which is known as "global dimming"
and is thought to be holding the global
temperature down by several degrees. But with a
severe industrial downturn, the aerosol could fall
out of the atmosphere in a very short time, and
the global temperature could take a sudden
enormous leap upwards.
One of the most striking ideas in his book is that
of "a guidebook for global warming survivors"
aimed at the humans who would still be struggling
to exist after a total societal collapse.
Written, not in electronic form, but "on durable
paper with long-lasting print", it would contain
the basic accumulated scientific knowledge of
humanity, much of it utterly taken for granted by
us now, but originally won only after a hard
struggle - such as our place in the solar system,
or the fact that bacteria and viruses cause
infectious diseases.
Rough guide to a planet in jeopardy
Global warming, caused principally by the
large-scale emissions of industrial gases such as
carbon dioxide (CO2), is almost certainly the
greatest threat that mankind has ever faced,
because it puts a question mark over the very
habitability of the Earth.
Over the coming decades soaring temperatures will
mean agriculture may become unviable over huge
areas of the world where people are already poor
and hungry; water supplies for millions or even
billions may fail. Rising sea levels will destroy
substantial coastal areas in low-lying countries
such as Bangladesh, at the very moment when their
populations are mushrooming. Numberless
environmental refugees will overwhelm the capacity
of any agency, or indeed any country, to cope,
while modern urban infrastructure will face
devastation from powerful extreme weather events,
such as Hurricane Katrina which hit New Orleans
last summer.
The international community accepts the reality of
global warming, supported by the UN's
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. In its
last report, in 2001, the IPCC said global average
temperatures were likely to rise by up to 5.8C by
2100. In high latitudes, such as Britain, the rise
is likely to be much higher, perhaps 8C. The
warming seems to be proceeding faster than
anticipated and in the IPCC's next report, 2007,
the timescale may be shortened. Yet there still
remains an assumption that climate change is
controllable, if CO2 emissions can be curbed.

Jan. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Climate change will kill
billions of people this century as the Earth
warms, passing into a ``fever' phase from which it
may take 100,000 years to recover, James Lovelock,
the scientist who propounded the ``Gaia' theory,
said.
Temperatures in temperate regions such as Europe
and the U.S., will soar by 8 degrees Celsius (14
degrees Fahrenheit) this century, and those in the
tropics will rise by 5 degrees as a result of
man-made emissions, Lovelock wrote in today's
Independent newspaper.
``We have given Gaia a fever and soon her
condition will worsen to a state like a coma,'
Lovelock wrote. ``She has been there before and
recovered, but it took more than 100,000 years. We
are responsible and will suffer the consequences.'
Lovelock's Gaia theory, advanced in the 1970s,
sees the Earth behaving like a self-sustaining
organism, with a control system that keeps the
environment fit for life. By trying to take over
regulation of the planet's climate, humans have
condemned themselves to ``the worst kind of
slavery,' and will soon find it impossible to keep
the Earth fit for life, Lovelock said.
``Much of the tropical land mass will become scrub
and desert, and will no longer serve for
regulation; this adds to the 40 percent of the
Earth's surface we have depleted to feed
ourselves,' he said. ``Before this century is over
billions of us will die and the few breeding pairs
of people that survive will be in the Arctic where
the climate remains tolerable.'
Not all scientists and politicians support the
theory that the planet's climate patterns are
changing as a result of human activity. The
administration of U.S. President George W. Bush
has said there's no proof that global warming is
causing a change in the weather.
Lovelock said that with the U.S. and emerging
economies such as China and India unlikely to cut
back emissions of so-called greenhouse gases that
trap the sun's heat, ``the worst will happen and
survivors will have to adapt to a hell of a
climate.'

The following article was a contest entry that won the distinction of
being published in a special issue of Quill / The Journalist.
The New Yorker who pointed me to this article knows the author personally.
He says the author was unable to tell the worst part of the story
here: that the secret service thugs actually beat him and his
cameraman to an inch of their lives, as well as confiscating the camera.
Perhaps a few more years will make it possible for him to tell the
full story. In a version from Dec. 2001, he was not able to mention
the incident with the storm troopers at all, limiting his comments to
this: " It was the most difficult story I have ever had to report
because I had to remain detached while focusing on the intensely
emotional details of the story."

His testimony may throw light on the controversy around the
reliability of the officially sanctioned 9/11 video evidence. For
this reason, we believe that publishing this article online falls is
a fair use for scholarly purposes.
It's already well known that during the clean-up at the WTC, all
amateur photography was prohibited and cameras were confiscated and
destroyed. It's also known that key audiotapes from air traffic
controllers on 9/11 were destroyed by perps, and of course, that 85
videotapes were confiscated at the Pentagon and have never been released.

A journalist's tale of survival amid the chaos and tragedy of the

SEPTEMBER 11TH has always had a special meaning for me. It is the day
on which I was born and, ironically, the day on which I almost died.
About 8:45 on that fateful morning, I was in the Chelsea TV studio
control room on 26th street when the first of the two jetliners
crashed into One World Trade Center. Three minutes later, I was
driving in the middle of a convoy of police cars and ambulances
racing down Seventh Avenue towards the Trade Center.
As I passed St. Vincent's Hospital, a sea of doctors and nurses were
spilling out onto the avenue. They were lining up rows of gurneys for
the victims they would never see.
As I emerged from my car near City Hall, I heard a deafening noise
and rumble. It was the impact of the second plane, Flight 175, on Two
World Trade Center. Port Authority police and Emergency Services
officials started screaming and running. I grabbed a freelance
cameraman who was shooting tape from a vantage point on Broadway.
"You're working for UPN 9 News today!" I shouted.
My cell phone was not getting through; I found a phone booth and was
able to file the first of several reports to the studio.
There were many feds in windbreakers, FBI agents and secret service
agents, all running from the Trade Center area. We trained our
cameras on the firefighters and Emergency services officers racing in
the other direction toward the unknown. Suddenly several cops and
firemen shouted and pointed upward. Tower One was starting to crumble.
A fireman shouted, "Run!" We all scrambled for our lives as the tower
collapsed, sending an avalanche of deadly concrete and steel
cascading our way. We were trying to outrun the wave of destruction
that engulfed everything in its path. We dashed into the first open
structure -- the old St. Peter's Church on Barclay Street. About a
dozen of us made it into the church as the debris from the Trade
Center slammed onto the front steps. The tiny church shuddered and
began to fill with a choking-thick white dust. We fled to a chapel in
the basement, looking for air and a way out.
When the rumbling stopped, we returned to the first-level altar where
firefighters would lay to rest the beloved fire chaplain and hero,
the Reverend Mychal Judge, who died while delivering last rites to a
firefighter who had been killed in the collapse of Tower One.
St. Peter's Church had become a life-saving refuge for many of us.
As my cameraman and I returned to One World Trade Center, a handful
of firefighters and cops were staring at the mass of concrete and
twisted burning metal. Their faces shook with anger and despair. We
were standing half a block away when we captured this scene on video.
But our work would never be seen. Suddenly, two plainclothes
detectives dressed in NYPD windbreakers started screaming and running
toward us. They grabbed my cameraman and slammed him against the side
of a building and took his camera. One detective smashed it onto the
hood of a car, breaking the lens off. He then tossed the camera into
the back of a patrol car -- outrageous police behavior.
It was perhaps the most difficult story I have ever had to report. I
suspect it will take years before any of us will fully know how
emotionally scarred we might be from what we saw and heard. And there
was the inescapable fact that I would never again care to celebrate
my birthday -- September 11th -- because of the mass murders of
innocent people that I witnessed on that day.

political price the invisible government must pay if it seeks to carry out
new crimes.
While stressing that the MIHOP historical and political analysis of 9/11 is
already conclusive, we urge that 9/11 deep throats and whistleblowers come
forward, both to testify and to produce additional written or recorded
evidence of courtroom quality on the scale of the Watergate tapes that can
put the September criminals behind bars.
In the event that Bush-Cheney seek to impose martial law, we will agitate
for an open-ended general strike of the civil rights movement, the labor
