Fiction that caught my eye... for no particular reason other than the ambitious style.

(I think) It gets more interesting in large view.

Update: This image has generated a lot more attention than I expected. The scene caught my eye as I was driving on an errand. On the way back home, I pulled over and fired off a few shots of the area. I felt there was something special to this tree and its surroundings, but it took a while to process and I am still not completely satisfied. I am glad that it has struck a chord with so many of you as is - thanks!

The Polerone Swans

I saw this family of swans swimming down with the tide and thought it would be great if they waited until the sun came down a bit lower. They came in to the edge of the Quay and stayed about 3-4 feet away from me. I took about 12 shots and this is my favourite one as I used a small bit of flash to highlight the swans against the sunset.

Consider this quote from Hermann Goering, president of the Reichstag, Nazi Party, and Luftwaffe Commander in Chief:

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
