A Pastor has come forward to blow the whistle on a nationwide FEMA
program which is training Pastors and other religious
representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach their
congregations to "obey the government" in preparation for a
declaration of martial law, property and firearm seizures, and
forced relocation.
This program is a nationwide initiative and a literal Soviet model
whereby the churches are being systematically infiltrated by
government volunteers and used as conduits for martial law training
and conditioning. The Pastor was told that over 13,000 counties were
already on board.
FEMA related to the Pastors that quarantines, martial law and forced
relocation were a problem for state authorities when enforcing
federal mandates due to the "cowboy mentality" of citizens standing
up for their property and second amendment rights as well as farmers
defending their crops and livestock from seizure.
It was stressed that the Pastors needed to preach subservience to
the authorities ahead of time in preparation for the round-ups and
to make it clear to the congregation that "this is for their own
good."
Pastors were asked to make a pledge or an affirmation during the
meeting to fulfil the roles ascribed to them by FEMA. They were
given assurances that they would be covered by full compensation in
the event of resisters injuring them during property seizures and
round-ups.

"We get the the picture that we're going to be standing at the end
of some farmer's lane while he's standing there with his double
barrel, saying we have to confiscate your cows, your chickens, your
firearms," said Pastor Revere.
The Pastor elaborated on how the directives were being smoke
screened by an Orwellian alteration of their names.
"They're not using the term 'quarantine' - this is the term they're
going to be using - it's called 'social distancing' don't you like
that one," said the Pastor.
He also highlighted how detention camps had been renamed to give
them a friendly warm veneer.
"Three months ago it was quarantine and relocation centers and now
it's 'community centers' and these are going to be activated at the
local schools," he said.
Pastor Revere outlined the plan to carry out mass vaccination and
enforced drugging programs in times of crisis such as a bird flu
outbreak.
"In the event of an outbreak or a bio-terrorist attack, there'd be a
mass vaccination....they have a program nationwide 'Pills in
People's Palm In 48 Hours'," said the Pastor who was told that
Walmart had been designated as the central outlet of this procedure.
Pastor Revere said that many attendees believed in the necessity of
the program and were completely unaware to the motivations behind
its true purpose and were offered incentives to become volunteers
such as preferential treatment and first access for themselves and
their families to vaccines and food shipments in times of emergency.
Which roads to close off after martial law was declared had also
already been mapped out.

About three months ago, I was invited to become a part of a group
implementing federal FEMA/Homeland Security directives in our
county. I couldn't pass that up!
Lots of interesting and bothersome info being discussed at these
meetings...
Local FEMA's ('across the US' according to a spokesman at our local
meeting) are gathering Ministers (Pastors) to help in the event of
a "declaration of Martial Law or like police action following a
declared emergency or quarantine due to an act of bioterrorism".
The discussion centered around the need of 'locals' to "quell the
cowboy mentality" of farmers who may have their stock or crops
confiscated and subsequently destroyed.
FEMA and other Disaster Agencies (NVOAD in particular:
www.nvoad.org) are training volunteers in a "Peer to Peer" program.
That program trains people to assist FEMA in a neighborhood setting--
teams reach out to neighbors in a declared emergency and "get their
neighbors to obey authorities". According to our spokesman,
Ministers will be especially helpful because "you guys and gals can
use Romans 13".

If you have ever wanted scripture explained in plain English and in
modern day terms this site is for you. Once you've read a few short
pages the mystery will go away and simple logic will set in.
There's a lot of information and many different subjects covered at
the site. I might suggest you start with pages 1, 3, 4, and 13.
They're very brief and to the point, yet convey a very common sense
way of understanding prophecy.
I think you'll see that the bible really is God's word, and He really
is speaking to Us today, and that it's not just a lesson in history.
Although there are some rather trying revelations, I found out how
important it is to know these things and think you'll like knowing as

Steven Rosenbaum and Pamela Yoder, his business partner and wife, at
their Manhattan office last month. They hope to find a permanent
repository for their archive.
Those images, captured largely by amateurs, are moments from more than
500 hours of videos and films, the largest collection of raw visual data
from what historians say is the best-documented catastrophe in history.
About 1,700 clips from the collection have attracted more than a million
hits in the three months since they were put on Google Video.
The 7,000-gigabyte archive was assembled by Steven Rosenbaum, a
Manhattan-based documentary producer. In the days after the terrorist
attacks, he put up posters and fliers and placed an ad in The Village
Voice urgently requesting images that captured the attack, its aftermath
and the mood of the city.
Now his collection is the largest asset of his dormant television
production company, CameraPlanet, and Mr. Rosenbaum is working out an
agreement with the Bank of America, the company's primary lender. He
wants to structure a deal with a donor, buyer or partner that would keep
the collection from being sold piecemeal, would repay the company's debt
of more than $500,000 and would make the videos available to
researchers, filmmakers and the public.
As the fifth anniversary of the attack approaches, Mr. Rosenbaum
is hardly alone among 9/11 collectors in struggling with financing, and
with the need to find a permanent home for a repository and provide
greater access to it.
Beyond at least 260 major private and institutional collections, an
estimated 100,000 people have squirreled away 9/11 materials. They range
from video and document collections to flags, badges, roadside shrines,
electronic archives of trade center blogs and even compilations of
conspiracy theory materials.
As yet, the logical repository for ground zero materials, the
planned World Trade Center memorial and museum, has no place to store
them, and it faces a budgetary and leadership crisis as well.
Beyond that, seeming to profit from 9/11 is still taboo. David N.
Redden, a vice chairman of Sotheby's in Manhattan, said his auction
house has not been offered Sept. 11 collections to sell.
"Things from that day should be unsalable," he said, "and anything
that is ghoulish is beyond the pale."
Among all the archives, Mr. Rosenbaum's video collection may be unique
in that it can be sampled by anyone with access to the Web, at
www.911archive.net/Google <http://www.911archive.net/Google>.
It is "an extraordinary compilation of perspectives, a very important
archive to keep together," said Jan Seidler Ramirez, chief curator of
the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation.
Mr. Rosenbaum, 42, said that two appraisers had valued his archive in
excess of $1 million.
"This collection is about five years of my life," Mr. Rosenbaum
said. "It's not about money. We don't have the resources to make it
available to researchers and other documentarians, and we are very
selective in giving approval to use our video."
Mr. Rosenbaum's Google video clips are low-resolution teasers of
longer sequences, and some have been encoded so that they cannot be
downloaded, allowing Mr. Rosenbaum alone to approve uses of the full
high-resolution images.
Seventy-six people contributed to the collection, which is owned by Mr.
Rosenbaum and his business partner and wife, Pamela Yoder.
The archive's value is greatly enhanced, they say, by videotaped
interviews with those who provided their pictures, "because in 40 years
everyone who shot this video will be gone, and we think the
circumstances are as important as the videos," Ms. Yoder said.
A few of the clips have been used in documentaries, including a
film produced and directed by Mr. Rosenbaum, "Seven Days in September."
In a review in 2002, A. O. Scott of The New York Times called it "an
almost unbearably powerful documentary."
When another director of documentaries, Ric Burns, made a film
about the trade center, he was also allowed to use some of Mr.
Rosenbaum's images.
Archives like this, Mr. Burns said, are tremendous assets.

To camouflage extensive war crimes committed by occupation forces and
US sponsored paramilitaries, Washington is conducting an investigation
into "allegations that US marines carried out a massacre of civilians"
in Haditha last November. By focusing on a single event, the media
reports give the impression that the massacre is an exception rather
than a pattern which responds to command decisions established at the
highest levels of the US military.
BAGHDAD – The killing of two dozen Iraqi civilians in cold-blood by US
occupation forces near the western Iraqi city of Haditha last November
is part of a pattern of US behavior in the country, Iraqis have
commented on what would be the worst case of abuse by American soldiers
in Iraq since the 2003 invasion.
"The American soldier has become an expert in killing," Abdel Salam Al-
Qubaisy, spokesman for the Sunni Association of Muslim Scholars (AMS),
told Reuters Sunday, May 28.
He said the Haditha incident was only part of a pattern of US behavior
in Iraq.
"This must be considered a war crime and the commanders tried," he
added.
At a barber shop nearby, Ahmed Abdel Rahman could not recall a single
one of his talkative customers mentioning Haditha.
One of them, Salah Mohammed, said such violence was common.
"This sort of thing isn't unusual," he said, blaming the prevailing
insecurity on the US occupation.
Haditha residents have described how two families, including young
children and women, were shot dead in their homes after a Marine was
killed by a roadside bomb on November 19.
The military initially said the bomb also killed the civilians. Only
the emergence of a film of the bodies led to an inquiry by Time
magazine that in turn prompted a US probe into the incident.
Unreported
Iraqi media and politicians have paid scant attention to details
leaking out in Washington as they have got accustomed to such incidents
day in and day out.
"The US forces have committed more crimes against the Iraqi people than
appears in the media," lawyer Abd Mohammed Falah told Reuters.
Mohammed Jawdaat, 47, like many Iraqis, can recount an incident in
which he says he saw US forces open fire on civilians.
"Six months ago a car pulled out of a street towards an American convoy
and a soldier just opened fire," Jawdaat said.
"The driver was shot in the head and the person behind was killed too.
They were innocents. There were no warning shots and the Americans
didn't even stop. The police took the wounded."
Imad Mohammed, a teenager selling newspapers at a Baghdad intersection,
said he had not seen Haditha on any front page.
"The Americans see a Muslim go into a mosque and just assume he is a
terrorist.
"They either arrest him or blow it up."
Cover-up
Congressman John Murtha accused Sunday the US military of trying to
"cover up" the civilian killings in Iraq at the hands of US forces.
Asked if he believed there had been a cover-up, Murtha, a prominent
critic of the US administration over the Iraq war, told ABC: "No
question about it."
"We don't know how far it goes. I mean, it goes right up the chain of
command, right up to General Pace. When did he know about it?" Murtha
questioned, referring to the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff,
Marine General Peter Pace.
Pace is the US' top military officer and a senior advisor to Rumsfeld.
"Who ordered the cover-up? I'm sure he (Pace) didn't, but what ... who
said, we're not going to publicize this thing?" Murtha said.
Murtha said the civilian killings have done more damage to America's
aims in Iraq than the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal.
"We're set back every time something like this happens," he said. "This
is worse than Abu Ghraib."

A Pastor has come forward to blow the whistle on a nationwide FEMA
program which is training Pastors and other religious
representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach their
congregations to "obey the government" in preparation for a

the authorities ahead of time in preparation for the round-ups and
to make it clear to the congregation that "this is for their own
good."
Pastors were asked to make a pledge or an affirmation during the
meeting to fulfil the roles ascribed to them by FEMA. They were
given assurances that they would be covered by full compensation in
the event of resisters injuring them during property seizures and
round-ups.

of some farmer's lane while he's standing there with his double
barrel, saying we have to confiscate your cows, your chickens, your
firearms," said Pastor Revere.
The Pastor elaborated on how the directives were being smoke
screened by an Orwellian alteration of their names.
"They're not using the term 'quarantine' - this is the term they're
going to be using - it's called 'social distancing' don't you like
that one," said the Pastor.
He also highlighted how detention camps had been renamed to give
them a friendly warm veneer.
"Three months ago it was quarantine and relocation centers and now
it's 'community centers' and these are going to be activated at the
local schools," he said.
Pastor Revere outlined the plan to carry out mass vaccination and
enforced drugging programs in times of crisis such as a bird flu
outbreak.
"In the event of an outbreak or a bio-terrorist attack, there'd be a
mass vaccination....they have a program nationwide 'Pills in
People's Palm In 48 Hours'," said the Pastor who was told that
Walmart had been designated as the central outlet of this procedure.
Pastor Revere said that many attendees believed in the necessity of
the program and were completely unaware to the motivations behind
its true purpose and were offered incentives to become volunteers
such as preferential treatment and first access for themselves and
their families to vaccines and food shipments in times of emergency.
Which roads to close off after martial law was declared had also
already been mapped out.

About three months ago, I was invited to become a part of a group
implementing federal FEMA/Homeland Security directives in our
county. I couldn't pass that up!
Lots of interesting and bothersome info being discussed at these
meetings...
Local FEMA's ('across the US' according to a spokesman at our local
meeting) are gathering Ministers (Pastors) to help in the event of
a "declaration of Martial Law or like police action following a
declared emergency or quarantine due to an act of bioterrorism".
The discussion centered around the need of 'locals' to "quell the
cowboy mentality" of farmers who may have their stock or crops
confiscated and subsequently destroyed.
FEMA and other Disaster Agencies (NVOAD in particular:
www.nvoad.org) are training volunteers in a "Peer to Peer" program.
That program trains people to assist FEMA in a neighborhood setting--
teams reach out to neighbors in a declared emergency and "get their
neighbors to obey authorities". According to our spokesman,
Ministers will be especially helpful because "you guys and gals can
use Romans 13".

Editor's Note
Congressman Charles Rangel, a Democrat (NY), introduced on 14 February
2006 a bill in the US Congress which requires:
"all persons in the United States, including women, between the ages of
18 and 42 to perform a [two year] period of military service or a
period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and
homeland security, and for other purposes."
The bill applies to both US citizens and non-citizens, to men and
women. There does not appear to be a provision which would exempt women
who are pregnant and/or caring for infants/children in a young age.
While there was some discussion/ debate prior to the formal
introduction of the bill, the matter has not been mentioned by the US
media since it was introduced in February. Neither has it been the
object of public debate. The bill has been referred to the House Armed
Services Committee. Ironically, in previous discussion leading up the
bill, Rangel's initiative to restore the draft was described as "an
anti-war tactic".
"Rangel opposes war with Iraq and seeks to make the point that many
soldiers are volunteers from low-income and minority families.
Political leaders, his reasoning goes, would think twice about sending
into war the sons and daughters of a more complete cross-section of
America. But whether or not one agrees with Rangel's rationale, many
Americans would agree that universal service can be a great leveler and
a unifying force in society."
Despite Rangel's antiwar resolve, the bill supports Washington's stated
objective to extend the war into new frontiers and to ultmately send an
entire generation of young Americans to fight an illegal, and unjust
war.
The bill also supports Big Brother. Those who are not sent overseas to
the war theater would, according to the clauses of the bill, be
inducted into the civilian homeland defense corps and other civilian
duties.
While there is at present significant opposition to the bill on both
sides of the House, if the war were to be extended to Iran, the
substance of this bill could indeed be adopted to meet the manpower
requirements of the US military.

bluntly accused the U.S. ambassador to Bolivia of trying to stir up
military
rebellion against his leftist ally Bolivian President Evo Morales.

influence in Latin America, routinely trades insults with Washington,

he blames for a short-lived coup that briefly toppled his own
government in

"The (U.S.) embassy in Bolivia is already whispering in the ears of the
Bolivian military to turn them against the government of Evo Morales,"
said
Chavez, wearing a traditional red poncho and bead necklace, at the
sacred
pre-Inca ruins of Tiwanaku high in Bolivia's Andean plateau.
"There's a plan against Bolivia, and the U.S. ambassador in Bolivia is
the
head of this plan," he said during his weekly Venezuelan television
show,
broadcast from Tiwanaku in front of an audience of Bolivian indigenous
leaders.
No one at the U.S. Embassy in La Paz was immediately available to
comment on
Chavez's accusation against Ambassador David Greenlee.
Chavez made similar comments earlier in his visit to Bolivia but did not
point the finger at Greenlee.
Morales, who sat alongside Chavez in a matching poncho, has also made
vague
accusations of conspiracies against his government since taking office
in
January, though he has blamed foreign companies opposed to his
nationalisation drive.
Morales nationalised the impoverished country's energy industry on May
1.
Chavez signed deals to invest about $1.5 billion in the natural
gas-dominated sector on Friday, as well as a package of financing
accords
aimed at creating jobs.
WAR OF WORDS
It was the latest salvo in a war of words between Chavez, a
self-proclaimed
revolutionary and leader of the world's No. 5 oil exporter, and the
government of U.S. President George W. Bush.
Bush said last week he was concerned about "the erosion of democracy" in
Venezuela and Bolivia. The White House has accused Chavez of being
uncooperative in fighting terrorism and of promoting instability in the
region.
"Gringo go home," Chavez, a former paratrooper, said during Sunday's
broadcast, which he concluded by dancing to an Andean pan-pipe band.
He said the U.S. government was willing to pay soldiers to turn them
against
the Morales government.
"The gringos offer lots of money," he said. "There are soldiers who sell
themselves to the CIA ... and they're paid by Washington."
Chavez and Morales are close allies and, with Cuban President Fidel
Castro,
have formed a leftist alliance that aims to counter what they call U.S.
political and economic hegemony in Latin America.
Morales, elected on pledges to nationalise the country's energy
industry,
often makes anti-U.S. comments in his speeches. But his government has
reiterated its commitment to work with the United States on issues such
as
fighting drugs.
Chavez, who is running for re-election in December and seeks greater
regional integration, has used his country's oil riches to give
neighbours
cut-rate energy deals and buy their debt.

Imagine: you are a foot soldier in a paramilitary group whose purpose
is to remake America as a Christian theocracy, and establish its
worldly vision of the dominion of Christ over all aspects of life. You
are issued high-tech military weaponry, and instructed to engage the
infidel on the streets of New York City. You are on a mission - both a
religious mission and a military mission -- to convert or kill
Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, gays, and anyone who advocates the
separation of church and state - especially moderate, mainstream
Christians. Your mission is "to conduct physical and spiritual
warfare"; all who resist must be taken out with extreme prejudice. You
have never felt so powerful, so driven by a purpose: you are 13 years
old. You are playing a real-time strategy video game whose creators are
linked to the empire of mega-church pastor Rick Warren, best selling
author of The Purpose Driven Life.
The game, slated for release by October 2006 in advance of the
Christmas shopping rush, has been previewed at video game exhibitions,
and reviewed by major newspapers and magazines. But until now, no fan
or critic has pointed out the controversial game's connection to Mr.
Warren or his dominionist agenda.

Time magazine has described Mr. Warren as one of the nation's most
influential Evangelical Christian leaders. He describes himself as a
"stealth evangelist" and describes his training programs as "a stealth
movement, that's flying beneath the radar, that's changing literally
hundreds, even thousands of churches around the world." He claims that
he has sold tens of millions of copies of The Purpose Driven Life by
developing a worldwide network of pastors.
The international director of Mr. Warren's Purpose Driven Church, Mark
Carver, is a former investment banker who serves on the Advisory Board
of the corporation created in October 2001 to develop and market this
game. The creators plan to market their game using the same network
marketing techniques that Mr. Warren used to turn The Purpose Driven
Life into a commercial success. For example, they plan to distribute
their merchandise through pastoral networks, especially mega-churches.
This game immerses children in present-day New York City -- 500 square
blocks, stretching from Wall Street to Chinatown, Greenwich Village,
the United Nations headquarters, and Harlem. The game rewards children
for how effectively they role play the killing of those who resist
becoming a born again Christian. The game also offers players the
opportunity to switch sides and fight for the army of the AntiChrist,
releasing cloven-hoofed demons who feast on conservative Christians and
their panicked proselytes (who taste a lot like Christian).
Is this paramilitary mission simulator for children anything other
than prejudice and bigotry using religion as an organizing tool to get
people in a violent frame of mind? The dialogue includes people saying,
"Praise the Lord," as they blow infidels away.
The designers intend this game to become the first dominionist warrior
game to break through in the popular culture due to its violent
scenarios and realistic graphics, lighting, and sound effects. Its
creators expect it to earn a rating of T for Teen. How violent is that?
That's the rating shared by Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory,
a top selling game in which high-tech gadgets and high-powered weapons
- frag grenades, shotguns, assault rifles, and submachine guns -- are
used to terminate enemies with extreme prejudice.
Could such a violent, dominionist Christian video game really break
through to the popular culture? Well, it is based on a series of books
that have already set sales records - the blockbuster Left Behind
series of 14 novels by writer Jerry B. Jenkins and his visionary
collaborator, retired Southern Baptist minister Tim LaHaye. "We hope
teenagers like the game," Mr. LaHaye told the Los Angeles Times. "Our
real goal is to have no one left behind."
The game, Left Behind: Eternal Forces, is based on scenes from the
first four novels in the series. The game was developed by a
publicly-traded company called Left Behind Games, according to SEC
records. The developers obtained the license from Tyndale House, the
Christian publisher of Left Behind.
Tyndale also publishes Bringing Up Boys and The Complete Marriage and
Family Home Reference Guide by Focus on the Family founder James
Dobson, PhD. Mr. Dobson has advised parents to monitor the amount of
time children spend playing video games and "avoid the violent ones
altogether." But he has not yet stated his views on whether there
should be an exception for video games that role play gunplay in the
name of Christ, or of the AntiChrist.
Tyndale's licensing of the project infuriated one of its authors, Jack
Thompson, a conservative Christian attorney and outspoken critic of
video game violence, who told the Los Angeles Times that he severed
ties with his publisher in a dispute over "Left Behind: Eternal
Forces."
"It's absurd," said the video critic. "You can be the Christians
blowing away the infidels, and if that doesn't hit your hot button, you
can be the Antichrist blowing away all the Christians."
The firm's CEO is relying on network marketing through pastoral
networks as a key part of his business plan, according to a report in
the March 6, 2006, issue of Newsweek Magazine:
Left Behind Games CEO Troy Lyndon, whose company went public in
February, says the game's Christian themes will grab the audience that
didn't mind gore in "The Passion of the Christ." "We've thought through
how the Christian right and the liberal left will slam us," says
Lyndon. "But megachurches are very likely to embrace this game." Though
it will be marketed directly to congregations, Forces will also have a
secular ad campaign in gaming magazines.
As part of its marketing pitch, Left Behind Games hypes the realism
with which it portrays the neighborhoods of New York City. There is,
for the most part, a remarkable verisimilitude except for one detail -
all of the ambulances have 911 painted on their roofs. In the
reality-based world, most ambulances have a red cross on top. Yet the
game designers make prominent use of these 911 ambulances to evoke the
tragic events of September 11, 2001. The historical context of 911 is
invoked as if to say, We are living in the End Times, and Muslims are
among the kinds of infidels whom you should fear, whom you should be
prepared to kill for your cause.
For game enthusiasts, there is also a multi-player mode, in which you
can go online and battle to take territory from other players. If you
happen to blow away a neutral party - and collateral damage is
inevitable in the End of Days - then you will lose "Spirit Points". But
you can power back up with merely a brief timeout for prayer, or by
converting one of New York's terror-stricken citizens.
In this way, the game resembles a send-up of Christian-themed video
games by "The Simpsons." "Billy Graham's Bible Blaster," is a
first-person shooter game in which you fire Bibles at club-carrying
heathens to convert them into card-carrying Republicans. (Hint: after
you finish reading this blog piece - and eating all your vegetables --
visit the Simpson's official web site and open file drawer F-H, then
click on the character of Evangelical Christian kid Rod Flanders to
play the game.)
Time has dubbed Mr. Warren "America's minister." But Mr. Warren says
that his agenda stretches far beyond America, and far beyond
traditional ministry. He sees himself as the CEO of a global marketing
enterprise, and as the Commander in Chief of a stealth army of one
billion Christian foot soldiers.
On the 25th Anniversary of his Saddleback Church on April 17, 2005,
Mr. Warren filled the Angels baseball stadium in Anaheim, California,
with tens of thousands of his flock. Mr. Warren signaled his belief
that we are now approaching the End of Days by opening with a rock
band, which played the Jimi Hendrix drug anthem Purple Haze. As the
band jammed, Mr. Warren sang the lyrics:
Purple haze all in my eyes
Don't know if it's day or night
You got me blowin', blowin' my mind
Is it tomorrow, or just the end of time?
The Director of the Peace Corps, Gaddi Vasquez, read a message of
support from President George W. Bush. Then Mr. Warren called on his
flock to support a $40 million capital campaign to expand missionary
training facilities at Saddleback's 120-acre campus in Lake Forest,
California. He pledged participants to achieve a purpose-driven
ministry overseas. His dominionist theology is apparent in this
ministry. A key aspect of dominionist thought is a conviction that the
Scripture gives the church a mandate to take dominion over this world
socially and culturally before the return of Jesus Christ. Mr. Warren's
global plan is a strategy to realize a dominionist vision of churches,
states, and corporations forming partnerships to bring about a new
world order to make way for Christ's return by establishing a literal,
physical kingdom of God on earth. In order to build this earthly
kingdom, Mr. Warren plans marketplace ministries - business ventures
with a veneer of missionary compassion that slip into a country in
order to transform it systematically through the governmental,
corporate, and social sectors. And that is why Mr. Warren calls himself
a "stealth evangelist" - because he wishes to cloak his dominionist
agenda, which is the establishment of an earthly kingdom that reflects
his skewed vision of Christianity.
According to Mr. Warren, the establishment of this earthly kingdom
requires "foot soldiers." As part of his plan, Mr. Warren said he would
encourage laypeople to "adopt" needy villages overseas in order to
plant churches, expand business opportunities, educate children,
influence governments, and overthrow corrupt political leaders, whom he
described as "little Saddams." Mr. Warren said his purpose is to enlist
"one billion foot soldiers for the Kingdom of God" in the developing
world. And the stadium crowd roared its approval.
Celebrants included Paul Kagame, the president of Rwanda, a tiny east
African country that lost hundreds of thousands of people when it
suffered genocide in 1994. Catholic and Protestant clergy have been
convicted in connection with that genocide. Yet Mr. Kagame announced
that he would allow Mr. Warren to turn his country into the first
purpose driven nation. The following month, 16 Rwandan religious
leaders arrived in Orange County to begin religious training at
Saddleback Church. Mr. Warren has said that his global initiative was
developed "underground" and in "stealth". Presumably, this was done
with the assistance of Mr. Carver, who directs the Purpose Driven
Church in all its activities outside North America.
Yet through an unexpected turn of events in Georgia, the spotlight was
turned on Mr. Warren's stealthy strategy in March 2005, when Ashley
Smith read a passage from The Purpose Driven Life to the Atlanta
courthouse killing suspect, Brian Nichols. Shortly thereafter, Mr.
Nichols freed his hostage and surrendered to police. The entire world
suddenly wanted to hear from Mr. Warren, who was busy planting the
seeds of a Christian theocracy with his "foot soldiers" in Rwanda.
On March 22, 2005, CNN's Larry King interviewed Mr. Warren about the
Atlanta courthouse shooting and hostage taking. A caller asked, "Can
you explain the sudden thirst or craving that people seem to have for
religion?
Mr. Warren replied:
"[T]here are really two stories going on in our culture right now.
There is the story of things are getting more worse [sic] in some ways.
We're seeing the increase in violence. We're seeing terrorism. We've
seen these recent shootings. We're seeing the coarsening of our
society, that has disgusted a lot of people. And there is people [sic]
-- some people are more materialistic than ever.
But at the same time, there's another story going on in America, that I
think is a spiritual awakening that is brewing. And that is a desire
and hunger to know God. I don't always think it's always a desire and
hunger for church. But there is a desire and hunger to know God.
So according to Mr. Warren, the worst of American culture is reflected
in examples of violence, terrorism, shootings, and the coarsening of
our society, that turn people away in disgust. And in addition, "some
people are more materialistic than ever."
If violence, coarseness, and materialism are serious social problems,
then what purpose is served by exploiting a global pastoral network to
mass market a game about mass killing, whether in the name of Christ or
the AntiChrist?
On the one hand, this video game is anti-American, because it endorses
roving death squads engaged in faith-based violence without any regard
for Constitutional law. On the other hand, the video game is
anti-Christian, because it argues that the Kingdom of God can be
advanced by using the methods and tools of the kingdoms of this world,
namely guns and bombs.
The Scriptures say, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and
when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6) The
Scriptures do not say, "Train up a child in the way he should blow away
the people of God as well as infidels: and when he is old enough, he
will go out and do some killing."
As Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of
this world, then my servants would fight that I might not be handed
over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here" (Gospel
According to John 18:36). As Paul said, "Though we walk in flesh, we
do not make war in accordance with the flesh, for the weapons of our
warfare are not fleshly." (2 Corinthians 10:3-4a).
The dominionist Christians pushing this violent video game are
modeling neither Christian charity nor patriotism. Both Christians and
patriots should oppose them.
